Cloudblast - Funniest service I ever seen
Been trying to use cloudblast for a week lol, but their UI is completely broken and their vps performance is ass
here is quick brief of my experience with their services
Firstly after getting vps i was doing simply tests (yabs and etc.), but after reinstalling few times vps managing page dead and started showing "install failed" error (sadly i dont have an ss) on all pages of vps managing dashboard

(replying to myself on the ss no, i wasn't stupid - that was 100% their issue and they confirmed in reply)
Manually reinstall my vps took 24 hours from their support
Ass performance and "transfer" feature
Finally after waiting 24 hours just to use my new vps i made yabs and... Just look yourself

(idk why its showing location as poland, probably bad geoip, but thats still Amsterdam, look at iperf3 pings)
ye, 253 multi core gb6 score and hdd disk speed
After seeing this i looked into YABS Thread and saw someone got 1300 gb6 score on UK location, and since my vps was prepaid (dont wanted to waste 10 bucks just to get hourly billing and then see that bad performance) i had to ask support move my vps

And ye, their answer took 4 DAYS and their indian coder spent 4 days adding new moving feature instead of just moving my vps (yea new features is always good but still)
Also while waiting they changed bandwidth policy lol

ipv6 address disappearance
Few days after they added moving feature there was no UK stock, so i tried to move between their other locations, and ipv6 address just disappeared after moving!
just look
First move

Second

And the third one, when it started

you might say "your stupid, they said you they had no free ipv6 space in uk!"
But look at fourth move back to Amsterdam

Full silence about v6 address, their ai slop moving system just completely REMOVED IPV6 FROM MY INSTANCE
And there is no ability to turn v6 back in dashboard, only pay for additional ipv4 address!

Ah, and btw performance in UK still ass, just a bit better than Amsterdam

their AI moving script caped disk at 3 gb!

So in total @cloudblast is full of Ai written shit, shit ton of bugs, bad UI/dashboard, slow support AND OTHER THING you probably dont wanna see from your hosting
Comments
if “blast,” then only hyperblast!
I had the same issue "Install failed" (wrote about it here - https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4873969/#Comment_4873969) and their AI chatbot sounded smart but is useless. And out of blue, the instance got deleted.
Mine is at their US location. Uptime and performance was OK for what I paid. But I won't use them yet for anythign production, I will wait some more time before they get to a stable state.
I was done with this hoster a few years ago; got a VPS from them that was advertised with IPv6 connectivity. After quite days and days of discussion (and trial and error) it came out that it just wasn't working and they couldn't get it to work - and it was "on the roadmap early next year". Yeah, right, advertise stuff you don't have in place yet and you don't have knowledge of how it works. Great stuff.
Just dogshit AI vibecoding. No actual human involved.
Lmao, you have been blasted.
IPv6 in UK is not available yet, but will come within the next week, that's why when you migrated from NL to UK you didn't get the Ipv6.
For the rest we take everything as an advice.
We know performances in NL are terrible, that was our first deployment many years ago. But despite that we're still permanently out of stock and people constantly ask us for more more servers in all locations. This is not to say that we want to have those kind of performances, but many people are ok with that for the price and for the convenience of our control panel, might not be perfect, but we constantly work on it.
That said, NL will receive an upgrade to EPYC Milan that we are already planning. We're one of the few providers that didn't raised prices due to the RAM prices hike, and being able to afford new deployments takes more time for us than for any other provider with higher prices.
We could raise prices to 12 EUR a month for a 1core 2gb ram EPYC Rome instance, like Hetzner does. But we are committed to offer an affordable cloud hosting experience.
We say explicitly what are our specs per locations, not all locations are the same:
NL: older EPYC's 7551p Naples
UK: EPYC's 7642 Rome
HK: EPYC 7663 Milan
USA: EPYC 7C13 Milan
All new deployments will come with EPYC Milans only.
Now I also wanna be blasted
That's absolutely ridiculous. They changed their data usage rules and are still charging us for the extra data we used before. I swear I'll never use their service again - they're completely unreliable
Why use Hetzner as a comparison? Your over bandwidth charges would far exceed Hetzner's equivalent plan comparing same bandwidth as Hetzner (20TB outbound only).
To me, the IPv6 thing is not the worst issue, it's the effect immediately change to specs for a core feature of the package. I'm curious where in your terms of use this is allowed and what country that's legal.
I'm not reading that other link, but if a newly deployed VPS reported "install failed", I'm not sure what you're expecting except delete and do it over, ideally after fixing the issue that prevented success.
If they're charging for data used before the rule change, that sounds like an unintended oversight. Try opening a ticket.
That's absolutely not true, we started charging only whatever came after, even to all of those abusers who used 800TB+ on a 3,6 EUR VPS, we didn't charged anything, except for consumption after the limits change.
It's about choosing at the end of the day.
2 core 4gb ram with 20TB in hetzner (cost optimized line) costs 6 EUR. And those runs on Xeons, if we look at the Milan line (equivaled to our USA, HK) would be 19.99 EUR (leave alone their Singapore Prices...
At cloudblast the same specs are 4,8 EUR (4,22 EUR if you pay yearly). All locations same price, no prices increases since ever, and you get EPYC Milans in few of our locations for no price difference.
Ofcourse we could raise the prices to 6 EUR and include 20TB or fair use, we want that? no.
98% of our users don't even use 5 or 10TB of bandwidth, why we would even risk our business with a fair use policy for those 2% of abusers?
Holy shit. What the hell were they even using that for?
Bing bong. Don't be obtuse, your CPU is dogshit. Did you skip over the OP talking about Netherlands and UK?
Good for you. Irrelevant.
You probably should have.
I don't know what you're asking, a fair use policy sounds like it would have only affected the 2%, not 100% and targeted your actual problem.
You're the one that offered unlimited plans for cheap. I should be asking you that fucking question. Why piss off 100% of your customers instead of 2%?
Hetzner for 6 EUR and 20TB is much better value than 5TB or less (since you count in and out). Just going over the limit by a byte and you're more expensive than Hetzner.
You're going to lose a lot more than 2% of your customers by pulling the rug with no notice.
Good and now we changed plans, as I said 98% of our users don't use that amount of bandwidth, and that's data over years of operations.
You really sound like someone who was using 800TB and got cut off.
Sad for you, but the party is over.
Thats exactly the issue. You can't. They are out of stock and so not possible to "delete and do it over". I had to come here and post and they manually provisioned a new instance.
I believe they are value for money for your test VMs and non-critical stuff. Maybe its just growing pain and they get more stable in the long run..
We just released yesterday and today some importants update to stabilize installs and reduce the install fails.
Also some of the issues was caused by some malformed templates in some of the nodes, which has been fixed as well.
Nah he's just a contrarian. He's always like this.
Yes, contrarian to have a change of specifications without notice. It must just be me and that's perfectly acceptable to everyone else. FFS.
I'm not a customer, I'm just pointing out an immediate change of specifications without notice and grace period is shady and possibly illegal. That's not acceptable. Full. Stop.
I didn't say you had no point (or that you do), just said that you're not a customer who was abusing the service but that you're a contrarian. That's true.
It's textbook bait and switch, and blaming 2% of customers is such a lazy excuse. Everybody understands that FUPs exist to handle the extreme cases, so in this particular instance you're the opposite of a contrarian. Or maybe LET is actually that gullible, I'm not entirely sure
Blaming me 🥺
Happy to refund you if you were not one of those abusers.
The change was immediat because was a situation that was starting to cause troubles to other users on the same nodes, for some reason since voice spread out a bunch of people started abusing the network in an uncontrolled way (yes, we do had throttling). Simple as that.
And since it didn't impact 98% of the users we just did it. INDEED we didn't lost any customer because of that, we are at all time high servers deployed amount, No one even complained about that, except very very few people and you guys here.
I think one of the abusers you’re talking about is @averagedatahoarder
But wouldnt a fair use system handle most of this? Like allow full port speed for a reasonable amount of traffic, then once someone crosses a certain threshold in a short period, temporarily throttle them instead of letting one VM hammer the uplink 24/7.
You could also use per VM rate limits, burst limits, traffic shaping, fair queueing, and automated detection for sustained high usage. That way someone can still burst to 10G when they actually need it, but one user cant sit at line rate for days and destroy latency or available bandwidth for everyone else on the node.
I can understand the abuse problem though. That’s why I asked in a previous thread if pushing that much traffic was actually okay. I haven’t used over 100TB on a LET provider, but I have on some non LET providers.
Not really, he was using quite alot of bandwidth, but I believe after he spreaded voice, many started to come and do even worse.
We do have various rate limits, throttlings and security measures in place, but then you have many using 100-200 Mbps 24/7 on 3 eur VPS's, it's not that easy to limit them, yes we could have throttled them to 5 Mbps or 10 Mbps like other providers do.
Fair use means that few people are supposed to use a high amount of bandwidth occasionally, which is totally fine.
But what happens when you get people using not very high speeds 24/7 with multiple vm's.
200 Mbps doesn't sound alot but multiple that by 25-30 VM's
But what is the point? would have result only in complaints, refund requests and tickets for us to handle.
LOL, 10gbps for €150-200/m
Yeah, understandable.
As he said, he was doing Linux ISO mirroring, so I wouldn’t really call him an abuser. Sorry, forgot to mention that. @averagedatahoarder
