According to Starlink their V3 satellites have 1 Tbps of downlink and 160 Gbps of uplink capacity
https://starlink.com/updates/starlink-version-3-satellites
The thing with Starlink tho is that the bandwidth is not cheap afaik.
Then bonding a few connections together with MPTCP should scale pretty well, especially if more than one satellite is in view at once. At that point, the bottleneck would end up being the MPTCP server on the other side that you're tunneling through.
Theoretical estimate only — not a quoted Starlink service price or guaranteed throughput figure.
For anyone evaluating Starlink as a primary high-bandwidth uplink in Ukraine, here is the theoretical traffic-cost math.
A sustained 1 Gbps stream transfers approximately:
1,000 Mbps ÷ 8 = 125 MB/s
125 MB/s × 86,400 seconds/day × 30 days ≈ 324 TB/month
Using the current Ukraine Local Priority pricing structure, incremental priority data is approximately $72.59 per 500 GB.
That gives an effective priority-data cost of roughly:
$145.18 per TB
Estimated theoretical monthly cost at sustained average utilization:
100 Mbps ≈ 32.4 TB/month ≈ $4,700/month
250 Mbps ≈ 81 TB/month ≈ $11,800/month
500 Mbps ≈ 162 TB/month ≈ $23,500/month
1 Gbps ≈ 324 TB/month ≈ $47,000/month
Formula:
Monthly traffic in TB ≈ Mbps × 0.324
Monthly priority-data cost ≈ TB × $145.18
Important distinction: this is a theoretical bandwidth-equivalent cost estimate, not a claim that a single Starlink terminal can sustain or guarantee 1 Gbps. Starlink is a shared satellite access network, so actual throughput depends on terminal type, cell capacity, congestion, priority level, and network conditions.
Therefore, “~$47,000/month for 1 Gbps” means the theoretical cost of purchasing enough Ukraine Priority Data to carry approximately 324 TB/month, assuming the Starlink deployment had sufficient aggregate capacity to move that traffic.
Little bit too expensive if you ask me
After more than a week, the question is: has anyone here actually been moved to another data center, or is this just something they keep repeating in support tickets?
As one of their customers, I have more than 40 servers with them, and every time I ask to be moved to another data center, I receive the same reply: that their Sales Department will contact me.
But they never do.
What is even more frustrating is that they do not seem to understand the seriousness of the situation. They keep insisting that the Sales Department will only reply during business hours.
What is this supposed to mean???
**They give everyone a different answer, yet provide zero actual information. To some, they say the servers have already been collected; to others, they say things will be up and running again in a month; and to others still, they claim they have no new information. It’s starting to feel like a total runaround. They simply won't post public updates, and that’s driving everyone crazy. @vsys_host, please provide an update here on the forum or on the homepage—right now, it looks like you're just lying to everyone.
**
We've already started gradually moving our infrastructure to the Netherlands.
vsys.host isn't providing us with enough support; they give evasive answers and unclear processes.
They're probably saying this to avoid losing customers because all the equipment was destroyed; I understand that.
There's nothing we can do; it's not something they can control. We were subjected to a treacherous attack by Russia. I hope Russia experiences the same thing one day.
We did the same but It will be better if we have the data for really.. It’s very annoying to restart from 0
Start from Zero ? There’s a lot of stuff on those hard drives. And if you have to start over, there ought to be some compensation; catching up on that much data takes extra work and time, so they should offer a hefty credit if the data is gone or lost.
Even if they take their Time, just because they communicate very very badly, we’ll not come
again in vsys.host.. It’s done. I never seem an communication like that
If you believe you have your data, you can continue waiting.
Because I don't believe so.
Their answer will probably be something like this in two weeks:
"Your hardware malfunctioned due to water damage, resulting in data loss. We can reinstall it from scratch."
If you agree to the reinstallation, you'll have to wait two weeks for the installation because there are many servers, and delivering them all will take days.
I see it exactly the way you described.
ALL THE DATA has been lost, but they’re trying to sugarcoat it by claiming there’s going to be a technical inspection.
Really, though, they’re just lying to us to buy time and keep customers from leaving. But how can they possibly carry on in the Netherlands? If a fire breaks out there for some reason, the data will be gone all over again
—since they didn't have a backup.
their dedicated servers are unmanaged, those don't come with any backups whatsoever.
So what you suggest ? Restart from scratch ?
waiting months to possibly get data(small chances though), or start from scratch and start rebuilding... the choice is all yours.
Hi guys, what's going, this morning https://offshore-servers.com/ is down as well
all our website is down too, no reply from their support
That'll be in total, not per beam. On average we can expect you're in one beam of the satellite, sometimes straddling two and rarely three.
It means your server got hit by a drone. They are working on the problem, but since your server got hit by a drone, and your server is not the only server that got hit by a drone, but there are possibly 1000s of servers that got hit by a drone, you will have to be patient.
If you urgently need your data, you can kiss goodbye any possibility of urgently getting your data. You might get it eventually. Good thing you had a backup and a disaster recovery plan.
You are clown
After that mass "Awaiting inspection" email they sent out to dedicated server clients, has anyone had their status changed to anything else?
No, there have been no updates at all. My servers are still showing “Awaiting inspection.”
no still same i think they have no clue what to do next no game plan
I always thought that this will happen some day with the War in Ukraine... That a datacenter might get hit with this war. But multiple DCs same time? wow. Hope you willl recover from this guys @vsys_host
all the best.
I thought a lot of multipath and channel bonding stuff was limited by encryption and https where it needed to be on one path only? So you need lots of different traffic to load both paths up.
Has anyone received a response regarding dedicated servers?
Nah, the encryption operates at a different layer. As far as the encryption protocol can tell, there's just one path.
Forget about it, my friend, don't get your hopes up. You should have already started buying a new server.
its not about server we have data there updated data which we need as soon as possible
No backup == no worth
Most of people here are severely retarded, datacenter literally exploded.
How can you blame the provider for this?
