Hello,
What's the problem?
Regards,
Michael
idk why need so much time to get reply from support LoL, Matteo bro please check discord
This service hasn't been 'great' but for what I use it for it's nothing essential. However, the R/W have been nothing but diabolical on storage. This has been raised a number of times on LET and I've raised two tickets with one with them acknowledging this issue and saying that it would be resolved. (Pre-DDOS Days)
2nd Time I provided dd exports and a bit of others to be getting asked to run different tasks, none of which I could be bothered to do as I simply do not have the time to give to this, It's been reported enough times here over the last 6 Months pre and post the DDOS Attacks.
However, today I receive this E-Mail

If I don't move my data by Thursday 10AM CEST the data is gone due to their issue, I've already started moving my data to another host as nothing on here is critical but I could do with keeping some of it.
Using just standard boring SFTP on the server to transfer the data here is an example of these speeds

I only about about 200GB of used space on my 1TB Disk but at this speed it's going to take some time! What about those with 5,8,10TB+ of storage with them having to backup/migrate their data by Thursday.
Additional!
Before DeluxHost tell me that it could be the 3rd Party I'm moving to has "slower" disks them then here is a DD

@DeluxHost I've received today the same email about storage maintenance.
I understand DDOS issues in the past and I haven't complained about them too much because it's something that was in some way outside of your control and it was impacting service availability but no data loss, this to be honest it's unacceptable.
You cannot ask customers to move all their data away and on top of that, only with a 3 days notice. This should be managed on your side for example buying or renting some spare servers to be used for storage switchover to minimally affect customers.
Is it at least possible to have a storage VPS with the same specs on another host which won't be affected by the maintenance to move there all data and to be kept as replacement?
Service is gone, support is gone, Matteo is gone. Directed by Robert B. Weide.
As I understand it, your support requests don't involve emergencies or server issues, so I think it's normal to prioritize other matters sir
No, it's just called basic customer service.
Hello. So, I understand the issues you're facing and your point of view. It should be clear that giving such short notice implies a critical situation with no other alternative, we simply couldn't afford to wait any longer, as there was no other solution. If you prefer, we could have kept everything online while dozens of servers became corrupted daily, but what would the result have been? Far worse.
We aren't taking this lightly, and we are doing our best to assist everyone, so yes, we can offer internal backups for this, just ask in the ticket the option.
Furthermore, everything will be faster, featuring advanced systems to boost disk speeds, something many users had previously complained about, Even so, considering the price at which the servers are sold, I believe they still offer good value.
What are you talking about sir? All services are online and works?
If I replied, it is because I know the status of his ticket.
@DeluxHost do you have any update regarding my refund requested on 16.09 via ticket #TMU4GBQLAR466, last interaction was 5 days ago
As mentioned, unfortunately, this is not directly within our control, but we are doing everything we can to help everyone and resolve all the issues you have been reporting to us for some time.
So what you're saying assuming you were asking other customers to run different commands and waiting 2-3 Days between replies that you knew this was an issue but persisted to waste mine and other people's time?
"We aren't taking this lightly, and we are doing our best to assist everyone, so yes, we can offer internal backups for this, just ask in the ticket the option."
I'm sorry but you failed to mention this in your E-Mail that if needed there was an option where you could backup the data so once you've resolved this issue that it could be restored rather than
"You must back up all of your data to an external location before Thursday at 10:00 AM CEST. Any data left on the storage servers after that time will be permanently lost."
I know that you are offering a good value for the money and I'm not complaining about it, but I'd define quite drastic even for a cheap service to ask users to backup their data because everything will be lost.
Anyway I've opened a ticket, let's see.
Thank you
What do you mean? We are always the ones who have to solve every problem, if we reach certain conclusions, it’s because there is effectively no other solution.
In any case, having external backups remains something that should be done regardless.
order #21425
I'm trying to move my data from the storage servers as per request. But the speed I'm getting it only about 500KB/s. I don't think I can make it in time at this rate
Better to ask users to backup instead of just losing all data instantly / without notice of degredation. @DediRock lost a few storage nodes in the past too and I'm sure that he would have rather had the chance to contact customers beforehand too.
In the end according to @DeluxHost's ToS, the user is responsible to keep their own backups. I know this doesn't help now, but especially with huge amounts of data, guys, try to do incremental backups, a RAID / drive can always fail.

Thank you.
Is this a Phishing Email?
I dont see any such notification in the control panel.
[URGENT] Emergency Storage Server Maintenance and Mandatory Backup Required by Wednesday

DeluxHost
Hello,
We are reaching out with maximum urgency regarding a critical and drastic intervention required on our Storage infrastructure.
On Wednesday, September 30st at 10:00 AM CEST, we will perform an emergency maintenance that requires a complete reinstallation of our storage nodes, resulting in a total wipe of all stored data.
What you need to do immediately:
You must back up all of your data to an external location before Thursday at 10:00 AM CEST. Any data left on the storage servers after that time will be permanently lost.
Which services are affected:
If you received this email, it means that all of your Storage servers are affected by this maintenance. All other services, server lines, and offers remain completely unaffected and will continue running normally.
Why this step is necessary:
We sincerely apologize for the very short notice and for the inconvenience caused by such a drastic measure. For quite some time, we have been working extensively to fix critical underlying errors on these storage nodes, trying every possible non-destructive approach to avoid disrupting your files. Unfortunately, the issue is worsening rapidly, leading to severe disk slowdowns as well as data corruption and data loss for several clients.
At this stage, temporary workarounds are no longer safe. A clean reinstallation is the only definitive way to eradicate the root cause, prevent further data corruption, and restore full disk performance.
If you run into any issues while backing up your files or have any questions, please open a support ticket right away and we will assist you with top priority.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
DeluxHost

Extra CPU or RAM preferred.
Thank you.
I'm talking about the fact that my server, like many others, has been half-dead for a week now: packet loss reaches up to 40%, support has been silent for a week, the situation isn't improving, but at least the status picture is pretty. There's no way you can call such a server working.
To be honest, the vast majority of people who ask for help on our posts do end up getting successfully assisted by me. however, what you’re describing doesn't match what I’m seeing. Everyone has different issues that likely aren't related to yours, and I don't currently see a widespread problem that would warrant an alert to all customers.
I might have missed something, but could you send me your server IP via DM so I can help you? It shouldn't take long.

@DeluxHost enough ?
Also this: why isn't support solving the problem, and why do I have to write in DMs? Not a single reply for a week. The problem remains exactly as it was. Packet loss on your network is huge and constant throughout the week, and the server is barely moving.
You’ve pasted a bunch of completely different cases, many of which are already resolved, so what is that supposed to prove?
If you want faster help or want to know the status of your ticket, this is the easiest way to go about it, there’s nothing more I can do, I try to help everyone however I can.
It can happen that, unfortunately, tickets get stuck in the system or are unintentionally overlooked for some reason.
I'll try to look up your case anyway.
TMUEJ0JMIOADM
It seems tickets get stuck in the system precisely because the problem is widespread, and there’s no one to solve it.
As soon as I get home, I'll be with you.
