My experience with PureVoltage

yourpapayourpapa Member

Just wanted to share my experience with PureVoltage. I'm not trying to say they are a bad provider overall, but I had some problems with support recently and wanted to share what happened.

I first bought their 16GB Bolt Deal of the Month (NYC) VPS on November 5, 2025, after seeing the offer on LEB.

I bought it for one month first just to test it. Everything was good enough that after testing I decided to keep it and purchased it for a full year.

Invoice: #2025-11-28-38678

My first issue was IOPS speed. I opened Ticket #198577 on November 6 asking if there was anything they could do to improve the IOPS.

Their reply was basically that they didn't see an issue with the speed and that they could refund me if it wasn't suitable.

I didn't continue the discussion because, apart from that, the VPS was working fine for me. I was actually happy with the service at that point.

Then things changed in March.

On March 30, 2026, I ordered another VPS with the same configuration. I couldn't pay through PayPal because I was getting an agreement error, so I opened a ticket asking about it.

Ticket #551465

The reply was:

"Unfortunately, we are unable to approve further orders for your account."

Okay, that's fine. If they don't want me to place another order, I won't. I didn't really have an issue with that decision.

But after that, my account was closed without any explanation. I opened Ticket #913031 asking what happened. I didn't get a proper explanation at first, but the account was activated again about a day later.

Then I noticed that one of my existing VPSs had been cancelled as well. I had not requested the cancellation.

At that point I just decided to continue with the VPS I still had and see how things went.

Later I needed a root password reset.

I opened Ticket #603867. They sent me a password, but it didn't work.

I opened more tickets because I still couldn't access the VPS properly. I ended up opening around 5 tickets related to the password/console problem. The tickets were closed, but the actual problem wasn't solved.

Eventually I managed to reset the password myself from the control panel, so at least that part was sorted.

Then I had another problem: the Proxmox console wasn't working.

I tried different PCs, different Internet connections and even a VPN. Still couldn't get it working.

I opened another ticket, #948142, asking for help.

The response included this:

"We've answered this for you in a previous tickets several times. Please note that abusing support may result in termination of your account."

I wasn't trying to abuse support. I was opening tickets because the problem wasn't solved.

From their side they said the console was working, so they believed the problem was on my end. I couldn't figure out what was causing it, though. I tried everything I could think of and eventually just stopped asking about it.

The VPS is still running, but I still can't use the console.

So overall, my experience is a bit strange.

The VPS itself was good enough that I originally went from a monthly test to a yearly purchase, and I even tried to order another VPS.

My main problem is the support experience afterwards.

For one VPS I ended up opening around 19 tickets, with around 10 of them related to the password and console problems.

I'm not saying nobody should use PureVoltage. My initial experience was actually good, and the VPS performance was fine for me.

I'm just sharing what happened with my account and support tickets because I think this is useful information for anyone considering them.

If anyone else is using their Proxmox VPS and has had similar console/support issues, I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

@PureVoltage why didn’t you told this poor soul clearly that you don’t want to do business with them anymore and ask them to take their backup and cancel their services?

Instead playing cat and mouse game via tickets.

Yeah, I had no issue with them deciding not to accept more orders. I would have accepted that if they had just told me clearly.

My issue was the way it was handled — account closed, then reopened, and my VPS cancelled without me requesting it. After that, my complaints were mainly about unresolved technical issues and tickets being closed without a solution.

Honestly I was thinking the ticket number isn't a problem really. If there is an issue with automation or something the client can't handle themselves then it needs to be improved. But then I looked at the price and it's $10/m ($6.25 if paid annually) for 16GB RAM, 4 Cores, 200GB NVMe then I realized nobody would want that many tickets regardless for a promo plan that already doesn't make any money lol. Should have just reinstalled the OS or used a rescue mode to chroot and change the password yourself.. if you're not sure how, then a super duper budget VPS isn't an option for you..

Yeah, I understand the point. Just to clarify, when I bought it in November 2025, RAM and SSD prices were not at today’s levels. I also wasn't opening tickets for every small issue — most of the tickets were because the previous ticket was closed without actually fixing the problem. If one issue is still unresolved, I don't really have another option except contacting support again.

This provider won't even allow you to boot your own ISO image, btw. Not even installing your own OS is allowed.

    Hello,

I want to clear up a few things regarding your account and your VPS service.

Your VPS, which was purchased on November 5, 2025, is still active and will remain active through December 4th, 2026. At that point, the service will expire and your account will be closed, as we have decided not to continue doing business with you after the current service term.

During the time you have had this $75/year unmanaged VPS, you have opened 19 support tickets. Several of those tickets were for things such as password resets and other basic server administration tasks that can be handled through our control panel. Our technicians explained how to handle these items, but additional tickets continued to be opened for the same types of issues.

Because this is an unmanaged VPS, you (the customer) is responsible for managing your own server. Due to the amount and type of support your service has required, our management made the decision that we are not a good fit for each other going forward.

Just to make the situation completely clear:

    • Your account was never closed. It is impossible to close an account with an active service.

    • Your VPS is still online and available to you through December 4th, 2026.

    • The only thing that was cancelled was a separate pending order that had NOT been paid for.

    • You were also offered a refund and the opportunity to end the service early. You chose not to take that refund and continued using the VPS.

    • Your account has been blocked from placing any additional orders.

Once your current VPS expires, we will not be renewing the service and at that time the account will be closed.

You are still receiving exactly what you paid for, and the service will remain available for the remainder of the billing period.

We take pride in providing reliable service and helping our customers when we can. At the same time, unmanaged services have to remain unmanaged. When a service requires repeated support for tasks that are the customer's responsibility, there comes a point where it no longer makes sense for us to continue the business relationship.

Please make sure you have backed up or moved anything you need from the server before December 4th, 2026.

Did you gave this info to OP clearly in an email or ticket etc?

    Hello,

Yes, our team provided him with notice of the upcoming service termination multiple times through our ticketing platform, including in his most recent support ticket.

The most recent notice was sent on August 29, 2026

    Our team’s response stated:

    “Hello [CLIENT NAME REDACTED],

    Thank you for contacting PureVoltage.

PureVoltage experienced a brief service degradation, which has since been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

In addition, we would like to remind you that your server will be terminated by PureVoltage on December 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (New York).”

He was provided this multiple times via tickets. Even reminded in his latest ticket he had opened.

    Thank you.

OP you are an idiot, first bcs pushing more with a provider that doesn’t want you.

Second, not mentioning that you got kicked out by provider because you are an idiot. Instead you came here and acted like out of blue they kicked you out.

OP might genuinely be non-technical enough that they don't understand their own incompetence. - It's not an excuse, but it could be an explanation.
