Looking for dedicated server – 64/128GB RAM, 2x 4TB SSD/NVMe, EU
Currently have an older Hetzner auction server that I’m looking to replace, so thought I’d see what LET providers have available before just buying another one there.
It’ll be running Proxmox with around 5 VMs. Nothing particularly CPU intensive, although one is a fairly busy Docker host. Current machine is only an older 4c/8t Intel, so I don’t need a latest-gen 32 core EPYC or anything crazy.
Ideally looking for:
- 8c/16t or better, Ryzen/EPYC preferred but open to decent Xeon offers
- 64GB RAM minimum, 128GB would be nice
- 2 x 4TB SSD/NVMe (or similar) as I want to run them mirrored
- 1Gbps port, sensible traffic allowance
- EU location
- Proxmox allowed
- Proper rescue access / remote console would be a big plus
Budget is roughly €70-120/month, depending on the hardware.
I currently also have a routed /29 and an additional IPv4 at Hetzner. I’m assuming I’ll be renumbering everything as part of the move, so I’m interested in providers that can offer either a small routed IPv4 block or several additional IPv4s. Happy to pay separately for those.
Not interested in a VPS/VDS or shared/dedicated-core cloud offering — looking for an actual dedicated box.
Older generation/clearance hardware is absolutely fine. Reliability and decent remote recovery are more important to me than having the newest CPU.
If anyone has something suitable sitting around, let me know the spec, location, network/traffic allowance, IP options, setup fee and monthly price.
