2TB VPS in EU with generous traffic
Hello.
I'm looking for a storage VPS to use for a content delivery network.
- 2 TB HDD or SSD
- EU location
- at least 2 cores
- at least 4GB RAM
- unlimited or generous bandwidth (I expect to use around 80 TB per month)
- performant, not over-booked to the brim
Would like to stay below $20 if possible. Thank you.

@layer7 offers 50TB bandwidth @ 1Gbps on all their VPS plans iirc.
You can customize the plan, but no option to add extra bw on the order page. Not sure, but might be worth reaching out to him directly, he could probably work something out.

I suggest you use s3 storage, $7/TB. (and one VPS to stream. $5/month if you want to hide the storage). I am currently using one, 4TB, CF cached system also reduced my bw to 10%. The cf workers are also great to save on the bw, too, free + free.

I feel like you will be better off with a dedicated server with that much bandwidth usage. You can find cheap kimsufi servers like the KS-1, KS-4 or KS-5 with 2x2, 2x4tb hdds and unmetered bandwidth. All below $20/month (but they include setup fee).

My current usage is about 50 TB per month, I'm estimating no more than 80 TB for this project.
Am I reading about the correct S3? For Frankfurt I see ~ $50 for 2 TB storage and $7200 in egress fees for 80 TB.
@NolimitHost what's your policy on bandwidth overages? That 4 TB would be entirely depleted in a matter of hours...
It's not S3 of AWS. AWS is overrated. (S3 is the method, not the name of product.) It's CF R2 ($15/1TB, unlimited bw) or BB B2 ($7/1TB, unlimited bw via CF). This is very reasonable price. You can get even lower than this, but cheaper means trade-offs. No-one should pay for egress fees ever.

it is $4.5/TB. This line 500mbps, duplex, meaning you can have 300TB (RX+TX)/m.
Normally, if you have to maintain the whole thing, you can get down to $2/TB. That's why they are selling for $7-$15/TB.
I dont know your stack, but vps+s3 storage is what I am doing now. and $20 should cover everything easily for you. OVH $4.54/m for 2C4GB + 2TB * 7$, that is $18.54 total. Anyway, too many choices.
one thing to add: caching all the files at CF edges, you will reduce your 80TB traffic to 8T traffic easily, for free. And 2c4GB would be too much, lol.
The free Cloudflare plan doesn't cache files larger than 512 MB. Is there no other way besides chunking the file?
