Move all data from this ipam to this new ipam, convert this config, get data from this api and convert it to this, etc etc. One job, run the code once, never use it again. It saves me enormous amounts of time and the risk of anyone being able to exploit it is very close to zero.

1000% this. It's great for parsing configs and the like. I use it to generate sed commands that would otherwise be too regex-intense for me to reliably do on my own.

Some of the grep|sed|awk one liners that I've had Claude generate are nothing short of epic.

  • vibecoding a vibecoding tool that will vibecode a pure agentic workflow.

  • Vibe coding a FUD bot that posts about how bad AI is at coding.

weird... what was he smoking for inventing this. Maybe inspired by children books

  • Since I saw that thread https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/221150/any-sdr-enthusiasts I decided to use AI the way I like it most...

Me and my guy Claude we're making our own air traffic control surveillance chain at home for fun in the evening... in modern Ada (2022). Modern Ada is cool.

Input is ADS-B, initially it will be from something like adsb.lol, but then if I don't get bored with that project it could come from a USB dongle thingy and an antenna glued to my window.

Output is Asterix Category 062 over UDP multicast.

In between there will be tracking, Kalman filter, track creation etc.

Claude writes the spec files and the unit tests, I review them (for real, and I ask for changes cause I like my Ada to be a certain way). I write the code, the compiler and Claude review it.

Ah and Claude will write a display thing as well so we can actually see something, since Cat 062 in Wireshark is not that fun.

Is this vibe-coding? I'm not sure. It's fun anyway.

  • I'm vibe copying a vibe copier and I'm getting there real fast.

The only part that's missing is some guy to do a vibe copier first so I can copy it from him, but work on my part is going real strong.

Obviously yes on the web client so you don't have to actually use ssh

just vibe coded my own webpage to check the times of the commuter train's station near me, matching closely the display that's on the quay at the station. There's probably a lot of apps like this but none of the ones I tried showed the trains exactly the way I wanted. The app AI made for me, I can put it on the TV in the morning so my wife does not miss her train. Also, it can do that for any public transport in the region, just in case.
I could have done it myself in 6 months or get frustrated using someone else's app.
I told my guy Claude to make it safe so it's rock solid.

  • I cant code so I use AI.

  • I vibecode this little program for myself to manage the updates on all my linux servers. UI is not the best, but I don't care, it was for me only, but made it public on my Github.

Why are the train schedules different every day? The buses and trains around me are scheduled and have printed times because they are set well in advance. But nowadays have stuff to track actual bus locations and ETA/delays. Is the delays or how busy what you're actually tracking?

The delay yes, so we know we have an extra 4 minutes to get ready. Also, when we want to take a train at an unusual hour and we don't know the schedule by heart.
