Is there Any VPS Free?

Sup, I'm looking for a free VPS/server or free-tier option to run a small personal setup with WireGuard + Pi-hole + Unbound.

The idea is to use it alongside a Raspberry Pi 3B+, mainly for remote access to my network and DNS filtering/resolution through Pi-hole and Unbound.

I don't need much in terms of resources, as the traffic would be relatively low and this is strictly for personal use.

Does anyone know of a reliable provider that currently offers a free VPS/free tier suitable for this kind of setup? Ideally, I'd like something that allows me to install a standard Linux distribution and run WireGuard.

I'd also be interested in hearing what alternatives people are currently using for a similar setup.

I'm also looking for a provider that respects user privacy and anonymity, with minimal personal information required for registration and no unnecessary tracking or data collection.

I'm also open to other suggestions or alternatives, so feel free to share any options you think might be suitable.

    Oracle for sure. Solid, free. Been enjoying it for a long long time. Others are an annoyance to keep for free.

    Tailscale + run Pi-hole and Unbound on the RPI. Done.

    • I don't consider AWS/Azure a free VPS service, since it is time limited, like trial.
    • GCP have long term free VPS, the only problem is CPU and disk performance are heavily limited, but fine for some light app.
    • Flyio is not VPS service, can run some containerized applications, but limited in quantity, at most you can run only 2 containers with minimal storage and bandwidth (at some specific locations) to be fit in waived-able invoice (<5$)
    • Oracle: this is actually good free VPS service but need PAYG to be reliable.
    • Some of free VPS provide by LET members (there are some requirement like join date, number of posts, etc..) is good too.

    Beside it I don't think there is another good free long term VPS. Just build homelab with some mini PC and proper backup, you'll be fine for a long use.

    Paid vps is better than any free vps because free vps tends to have restrictions. So, it feels like walking on eggshells.
    Further, many hosts offers $1-2/m small vps. So, why waste time looking for free vps when there's better alternative?

    I have strange thinking, I can throw hundred dollars to homelab machines without any feeling, but feeling good when I can save 1$ somewhere I don't like.

    It's sunk cost. I also spent a lot of money on my HDD. But also shop around for VPS because it saves money. Regular people would just purchase newest phone lol

    Do this all in your home router. Opnsense or similar.

    It's basically like asking for free groceries. Someone may give you free stuff one time but relying on it happening every week is a bad idea, and it's not like software where it costs nothing to provide a few extra copies.
