Cheap VPS/VDS recommendations for running Hermes Agent 24/7?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a cheap VPS/VDS to run a Hermes agent 24/7. The big requirement is a provider that's actually okay with sustained high CPU usage. I need something that can sit near 100% CPU for long stretches without getting flagged or suspended for "fair use" abuse.

Rough specs I'm thinking:

2–4 vCPU
4–8 GB RAM
40–100 GB SSD/NVMe
Full root access
Decent uptime

Budget-wise I'm hoping to stay in the $5–15/month range, but I'll go higher for a real VDS or dedicated-CPU plan if that's what it takes to get guaranteed sustained CPU without throttling.

If any of you are running similar 24/7 workloads — agents, bots, workers, automation, containers, whatever - I'd love to hear what you're using. Specifically:

Provider
Specs
Monthly price
Whether they actually allow sustained 100% CPU usage (not just "technically permitted but they'll throttle/suspend you")

Location doesn't matter much - anywhere on earth works fine.

    With that budget, you should go with UpCloud. This is also a time to prove whether their SLA matches their claim.

    Any provider that has an internet connection to their servers and is billing in hours then.

    Most budget providers will throttle you if you peg CPU 24/7, so look for ones that say "no fair-use cap" — a few on here genuinely allow it. For an agent workload 2 vCPU is usually plenty unless you're doing local inference, keep that on an API. Also grab NVMe + daily backups, future you will thank yourself.

    You can use Servarica. They don’t seem to throttle you, even after years of usage, including on their VPS plans. You can get a VDS too.

    VPS for this usecase is crazy word, get a recent arm chip SBC liek the RPI 5, many orher brands.

    $50-100, one time plenty for AI agent using external calls.

    And if you still don't want to host it, don't colo it, for $5/month but you onw it, 2TB NVME your budget your issue.

    Using Hermes alone won’t keep the CPU at 100% for long periods; it’s probably your task flow or something similar that’s causing the high usage.

    For this budget, I recommend HostBrr—you can get a dedicated VDS with two 9950X3D CPUs.

    Your budget will be hard to match something with 100% dedicated CPU in VPS Line.

    This is the cheapest one that you will find with us for that purpose. Otherwise your budget won't be enough.

    Maybe if you increase a little your budget more options will appear, since the prices of hardware are raising.
