Deploy Self-Hosted Apps

You're already paying for software you could own.

Photos in someone else's cloud. Notes in a SaaS platform. Automation in a tool that charges per run.

Many of these services have open-source alternatives that you can run yourself. The problem? Most people don't want the hassle of maintaining a server.

Cloud Apps changes that.
The server is yours.

The maintenance is ours.

Pick From 200+ Apps

  • Immich — A self-hosted alternative for your photo library.
  • Jellyfin — Stream and manage your own films and media.
  • n8n — Build powerful automations without paying per workflow run.
  • Open WebUI — Run and manage your own AI models.
  • Syncthing — Keep files synchronized across your devices.
  • Gitea — Host and manage your own Git repositories.
  • TriliumNext — Organize your notes and knowledge.
  • AdGuard Home — Block ads and trackers at the DNS level.
  • Grafana — Create dashboards and visualize your data.
  • And around 200 more apps.

they realized they can pack more users per box at about the same price point as smallest vps.

  • What is the difference between the Self Hosted VPS for which the discount applies and the VPS/VDS? They are both at $20/mo plan.

Because people want to ship next.js, astro, django apps without vps complexity. Think render, fly, vercel and other easy to deploy platforms that made it too easy without managing the complex infrastructure 🥲

No managing the database, server management and complex stuff, just your app 🙂

I understand but you can get a better vps for similar price and install and use coolify for example, sure you need to manage the updates, etc.

Yaa, AI makes SaaS cheap to build, and hosting providers find a new way to cram 500 users onto one potato. Everyone's apps sitting idle 99% of the time. New overselling meta unlocked lmao.

Anyway, if they do it correctly, it's good.

12 euro a year? I don't think so because Coolify is resource hungry 🥲

  • In near future we plan to support custom apps. What you would like to see?

    • custom Docker/Compose apps
    • Git-based deployments
    • private container registries
    • persistent volumes
    • automated backups + snapshots
    • one-click restore/migration
    • health checks + autrestart
    • resource limits
    • metrics + monitoring
    • centralized logs
    • alerts/webhooks
    • staging environments
    • API + CLI access

  • How is this different from coolify?

sftpgo? Self hosted, local to vps encrypted, personal file sharing (so i don’t have to use iCloud to share with strange people)

You deploy amneziawg ? The phone/laptop app does this.

CaliberNode inflicts some problematic packages requiring the server be wiped. Do you require i wipe? Do i pay you like a coolify i stead of self hosting coolify? And your suite installs on my bob brand vps or only your offering?

I’m waiting for nextdns whitelist of your sales subdomain to sinkin

  • Consider add:

    https://github.com/Viren070/aiostreams
Aiostreams + Traefik reverse proxy + MediaFlow

    https://github.com/infinidysk/infinidysk
an aiostreams addon. This itself is useful

    Same, SuS :grey_question:

A VDS typically gives you dedicated CPU cores, while a VPS may share or oversell CPU capacity. RAM is usually allocated to the VPS and not routinely oversold though providers’ policies vary.

“Cloud app” platforms take resource sharing a step further. Instead of reserving a full VPS for each application, they place apps across a pool of machines and allocate resources as needed. Since many apps use only a fraction of their allocated CPU and RAM most of the time, providers can serve more workloads from the same hardware.

TL;DR: It’s a trade-off for you, not the provider. Some VPS hosts are shifting toward cloud-app platforms as a way to squeeze more revenue from resources customers are already paying for by sharing and overselling them more aggressively, often with the impact less obvious to users due to it's per app design rather than actual control.

PS. I assure you if all users maxed our 100% resources on these plans, they would regret this choice but atlas this will not happen nor does it for VPS overselling.
