Leaseweb has DDoS protection? Never knew!
If you don't find anything, maybe consider an OVH dedicated server. They have KS-3 in stock right now in Sydney for $23 USD. E3-1245v5, 32GB RAM.
KS-3 doesn't have DDoS protection in APAC, checked with their staff :-(
are you sure? that's pretty crazy if OVH stopped providing DDoS protection on cheaper plans. (I have KS servers in singapore, australia)
Weird then. When I messaged their staff about it they said it was only for their "GAME" line. I previously had a KS-GAME server which didn't have DDoS protection either, I got hit offline pretty quickly.
Trying to contact their support is hard enough, I don't think I want to go back to OVH bare metal from previous experience.
I could offer lsw sydney vps. however its not good for you.
Leaseweb vps ddos protection is basically nothing.
Their standard ddos protection has 5Gbit protection, Check Here
If your traffic goes above that then your ip will be nulled automatically by their monitoring system.
Check here whole details: https://kb.leaseweb.com/kb/ddos-ip-protection/ddos-ip-protection-overview/
Thank you for the insight! Does that mean it's probably better to go through GSL always-on?
Any but not leaseweb for ddos protection, because their ddos protection is not good at all.
Please do your own research about others, because i have no idea about others.
Since i use leaseweb so i thought i should give information here about it.
I appreciate you giving me some info!
I asked a similar request a couple months back but it seems like there weren't heaps of providers who had always-on GSL in APAC.
Streamline Servers is one of GSL's sub-brands. They have "cloud servers" that come with Windows and their game panel, maybe you can ask them if you can order one with a Linux OS instead since they sell them in Sydney (I assume Sydney uses GSL, since it's their sub brand.)
Yeah true I did look at Streamline before, their bare metal is insane but I'll have to revisit their VPS offerings.
Thank you for the heads up as I would've forgotten
GreenCloud use xTom(GSL) in Sydney
I have a budget KVM with them at the moment which didn't look to be protected either :-(
It should be - xTom uses GSL transit. Have you reached out to support?
Yeah I did and they didn't help me out unfortunately. They recommended I updated the rules on my VPS firewall to avoid any further attacks lol
Interesting, I reached out to them once and they liaised with GSL to get the rules updated
I can check the transit path later tonight when I am home from work.
