Self Hosted VPN - Amnezia VPN

Hello All

I have been using Algo VPN that required some level of setting up and installation. I have now started using Amnezia VPN. It seems to be very simple to install and setup and on top of that I can perform firewall hardening which does not seem to cause any issues to the VPN functioning.

So happy user of Amnezia VPN

Kind regards
Harvinder Singh

  • It works really well indeed. Have you tried the XRay protocol? Even though it's designed for use under heavy censorship it still performs good.

  • I have only tried the original amnesia protocol but will give others a try as well thanks

Did anyone tried decent project like 3x-ui? As this project support more protocols than just one!

I've had great success with AmenziaWG; it seems to work well in our testing, and it also works well when VPNs are blocked. Not tested extensively across different networks, but seems to work.

Just to be clear, Xray is not a protocol, it's a framework, which includes protocols like vless, vmess, shadowSocks, xhttp and other, tools like balancer, fingerprint breaker, dns, router and etc.

By this framework you could combine protocols, fingerprints, mask behavior of your data flow.

  • This one https://github.com/angristan/openvpn-install or his wireguard install script are more then enough to protect your fapping moments.

I tried it now, it was really easy to set up. Only issue I ran into was my client software was out of date (refused to let me connect), sorted it out by using v2rayN/v2rayNG.

Can you offer about the hosting you used ?

  • Am I the only user use tailscale exit node as VPN?

I am curious: will the phone app deploy server to 1c with HALF a gig of ram?

Xray vless mkcp tls is known broken IF one uses anything other than “1” in uplink. It works but speeds are not amazing. We await an update.

Verizon Wireless might send you a sternly worded defamatory email should you use vless reality all month. Not being able to spy/harvest/sell seems to upset verizon wireless despite “opting” out of such.

@ElliotJ no, as mullvad offers free exits to tailscale

Nope, I use tailscale/headscale for internal shiz, works very well.
