Is email forwarding the only email solution on namesilo?

user3028938user3028938 Member

With netim you got one 'real' email address with them and with other hosts I used in the past you would get a certain number but namesilo only seems to offer email forwarding, is that right?

Just checking I am not missing something as these features seem to be opaque quite often with such companies, having to root around to find if things are available.

I don't mind if forwarding is the only way, it doesn't make much difference to me, just wanted to check that it is the only one.

So long as I can get [email protected] forwarded to one of my other existing emails, with the user not seeing the latter email, it works out the same to me.

I boycott cloudflare in protest. Hate how they dominate captchas now withe their turnstile although I have seen a couple of other ones lately such as microsoft and in linux/open source sites the anime girl character one.

  • Check https://astermail.org - one of the only "free custom domain" hosting/forwarding
with E2EE and some nice features. I use them for some of my parked domains.

Oh, by the replies I guess people misunderstood a bit. I meant within namesilo itself, not just in general how to get email.

Anyway I got it working on namesilo now.

Btw with forwarded email can you only receive to the forwarded email you setup or send as well for [email protected]? If the latter I am unsure where I should be creating the email? in namesilo or in the forward destination email interface?

When I look that up I get unrelated stuff of course related to forwarding email, which we know is something totally different, whereas I want to know how to send email using a forwarding email.

So if the setup is [email protected] is forwarded to [email protected] then where would I CREATE email if I want to SEND as [email protected]?

if you want to avoid using namesilo/cf ,
you can try using improvmx.com or forwardemail.net.
i have used both in the past, they work just fine.

also .. turnstile is everywhere because site admins choose to use it over other options, it’s free and unlimited.

also also .. anime girl character waf is oss = https://github.com/TecharoHQ/anubis

This is why you need some sort of email hosting if you want to send emails and reply.
Because a forwarding is a "dumb rule" - take from *@1.com -> push to [email protected].

If you don't run your own SMTP server - and trust me its a huge pain in the ass to do
properly - you need a service that will act as a sending server for you.

Hmm I just read this article which indicates I can also SEND by setting up the namesilo domain in the destination email provider's forwarding section.
