I've already got a Dedirock VPS that meets all the minimum requirements except the GB 6 score. It's uncomfortably slow CPU-wise, but otherwise works fine.
I need an actual VPS, not just storage.

Yeah, HDD is totally fine. The DediRock VPS is functional enough most of the time, but it's coming up for renewal and I already have a bunch of other things with them, so I was seeing what other options exist, to try to diversify.
You mean not a storage VPS, just a VPS with storage? Ohh, that’s pricey man. ( You can find them around $5/month at Serverica when they restock. Otherwise, it gets pretty pricey )
You should x2 budget, Storage VPS and Normal VPS are different thing
I think they were referring to not wanted a storagebox, but a fully Storage VPS so they could install software on top of it, like Proxmox backup server or whatever.
I would recommend @NDTN Greencloud, their NYC location is relatively close to Dedirock storage VPSs in Buffalo, (about ~15 ms pings) without being in the same data center. If you plan to move data between the backup servers (or your other Dedirock VPSes)
Not always. Some providers have faster CPUs with larger HDD options. It's certainly not typical, but they do exist and I have a few of them.

Thanks for the recommendation. I already have a lot with GreenCloud. Quite pleased with them, and they're one of the few providers that have faster CPUs with their storage offerings.
I just have stuff coming up for renewal, and I'm also trying to diversify hosts a bit.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, when you purchase during their birthday sale / Black Friday and pay for three years, in the past, they've doubled the storage.
