  • It is quite comical that their last message is towards me and begins with

"SolidVPS is definitely not a shitshow."

  • Lithuanian vps still running, got everything out from there what needed. Whats happening @SolidVPS can see they are reading this forum but no reply or nothing.

All services have outages from time to time. I imagine they're working on it.

Sure. But why don't they inform any affected customers on what's happening?

Edit: plus, somebody here stated that solidvps said it's the customers intnernet fault

Their problem must be harder than we thought. So, I hope other hosts willing to lend a hand.

  • They are trash company man, this should be enough proof right here, this topic, to do not give your money to them and request a refund. I understand shit happens, but you can't just go radio silence 24+ hours and like Mainfrezzer said ... They already were accused of being a shit show and now this just proves it
I got a really good deal from them. But have had numerous hours long blocks of no service over the last year. No big deal, usually happens outside business hours...

Now they go full jump the shark just completely offline...

Thank God I version my repos and GFS my databases :( otherwise my clients would be waking up today in the same mess they were in yesterday.

Highly do not recommend solidseovps after this experience. If a company can't participate in the community here (like how Onidel and others do), I will not send them any money from here on out. I knew something was wrong when I seen and heard they had stopped coming here. They stopped coming here because people called them out on their bullshit I guess.

I get why everyone is frustrated, but honestly, I think we should cut @SolidVPS a little slack here.

I currently run 5 chicken with them, and out of all 5, only a single one went down — and that’s in Tampa. Funnily enough, even within Tampa it seems isolated: my node on the 164.140.117.0/24 subnet has been rock solid without a hitch, while the one on 167.253.66.0/24 took a hit. That alone shows the entire infra isn't completely toast, just specific segments.

It feels pretty unfair to immediately start trashing a provider that brought us some of the absolute best value deals around. On top of that, whenever I’ve actually had to deal with their support, they’ve been quick to respond and got things sorted out.

Look, downtime sucks and nobody likes it, but let’s try to keep it civilized and remain human. Outages happen to literally everyone in this industry. Fingers crossed they sort out whatever blew up shortly!

I agree with you but some explanation or answer or anything from them should enough and make the dissapointed customers feel that they in same situation and not only read-then-offline; also stick with the 'it is your connection problem'

  • I understand outages happen, but it has been over 24 hours without a single word from the provider. That's the real issue here.

Exactly - they don't even have their own website up during this whole ordeal. What if you want to cancel your plan?

I would suggest migrating if you have them handling anything for you, this is absurd and not how companies should be run, shame on SolidSEOVPS or whatever, they are in the gutter for me after this and I recommend anybody who has anything on any of their servers look what their customers are going through:

    1.) Gaslighting

    2.) No communication channels

3.) 24+ hours of no updates

It is just ridiculous. I had to pull an all-nighter for a client to make sure they were up and clean on another VPS thanks to their stupid asses.

  • Meanwhile, Tampa is back online. Where are you, people who live on LET with customers loosing gazillions?

The mob here really can get ridiculous. Now don't get me wrong, a lot of the times it's entirely justified, but one provider having downtime in one particular location and fixing things without updating his customers? That's not worthy of this level of scorn.

  • Well, even if it is back online, I am going to cancel it. What a horrid experience.

    got curios and check'd

Network Service Incident – Tampa Location
On Thursday, September 3rd, at approximately 5:45 AM EDT, our Tampa location experienced a significant network infrastructure issue that resulted in an extended service interruption.

This was the second switching-related incident affecting the location within a short period of time. Although service was successfully recovered following the previous incident, the recurrence raised concerns regarding the continued stability of the existing switching environment.

During today's initial recovery process, we determined that simply restoring the affected network equipment and returning to the previous configuration would not provide the level of stability we require for production service. Rather than bring services back online with the risk of another interruption, our network team made the decision to perform a broader reconfiguration of the affected network infrastructure.

The revised network architecture also required additional fiber connectivity beyond what was required by the previous design. While spare components were available onsite, the scope of the reconfiguration required additional cabling that had to be obtained before the new topology could be fully completed. This dependency, combined with the time required to reconfigure, bring portions of the network back online in stages, and validate connectivity, significantly extended the overall recovery time.

We understand the significance of the duration of this incident and sincerely apologize to all customers affected. Our priority during the recovery was not simply to restore connectivity as quickly as possible, but to ensure that when service was restored, the underlying network was operating in a stable configuration.

As part of the corrective work performed during this incident, changes have been made to the affected network architecture to reduce the possibility that a similar infrastructure issue could result in the same type of extended disruption in the future.

All affected services have now been restored, and network operations are being closely monitored.

We recognize the significant impact and duration of this interruption. As a gesture of goodwill, all customers with services affected at our Tampa location will automatically receive a seven-day service credit. No support ticket or SLA request will be required. Credits will be processed automatically and applied directly to affected services within 3–5 business days following full service restoration.

While a service credit cannot make up for the disruption experienced, we believe it is appropriate to acknowledge the impact this incident had on our customers.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this incident.

I feel you, but listen, I was a hell of a defender of them and you can see the repeated topics I've posted on here after problems with their Tampa location over just the last year or so. It almost makes it so the money isn't worth it, and then the cherry on top was this 24 hour blackout with no communication. I don't like to do business like that, and I can't pass that kind of business on to my clients. It isn't worth it.

Maybe they are normally "solid", but ever since I got that Tampa box it has been one problem after another. I had to have a fail-safe tunnel fallback built between another server after repeated connection issues to EU (which I don't think was their fault) - but, the blocks of down time, I'm sure there are at least 4 over the last year or so that I've posted in outages when their Tampa services have bit the dust.

It isn't worth it. They are at 99.7% uptime or less, which, sure 99%, but, having a 24 hour block where you can't even cancel your services is whack - it also always happens that when their Tampa location goes down, so does their main services. I used to defend them and think I got a good deal. Over the last 24 hours, I learned better.

i guess it must have been pretty bad if they risked making significant configuration changes during the outage but armchair quarterback etc, good everybody's back online anyway and 7 days credit is pretty decent.

  • they are back - I'm with them since 2014 and this was first time they went dark for a long time

Me too with them since 2015 and they have been exceptional. If we are having this much hard attack this time, imagine what would they have been going through or facing what caused it.

They seem to have fixed whatever was impacting their network. Site and client portal are back online too.

Edit: Found this information about the issue - for those interested.

  • For everyone freaking out, less than 20 hours downtime is still easily within the SLA.

Well, people here have got a lot of spare time and they do not know what to do with it hence the reaction. Cheap dopamine.

    Hello LET

Thank you for your understanding, and we sincerely apologize we never intended to go dark on any of our customers. Our entire infrastructure, including all communication systems, is located in the same datacenter that was affected. Our focus over the past 24 hours was not only to restore service as quickly as possible, but to ensure the issue is permanently resolved.

Our Tampa location is our largest site, with hundreds of servers and multiple edge switches, so recovering everything within that timeframe was a significant task. We apologize if communication was delayed; part of that was due to our website and support systems being impacted by the same outage.

Restoring a huge infrastructure from backup (plus verifying and testing things) can easily take 20 hours. If there was no backup, I'd expect it to be a lot worse than under a day to recover.
