Are there any cheap hidden-gem VPS providers with good IP reputation?
Looking for a VPS in California for personal VPN use. I need around 200 GB/month, and 256 MB RAM with 3 GB storage is enough.
Requirements:
- Full root access
- Dedicated public IPv4 (no NAT VPS)
- 50 Mbps bandwidth is sufficient
- Good IP quality is my top priority
Ideally under $5/month. If it costs much more than that, I’d rather just use a residential proxy.
Cloudflare challenges should be rare, and even when they do show up, they should pass automatically without any manual verification.
The IP should not be flagged as hosting/datacenter by databases like IPinfo, IP-API, AbuseIPDB, etc., and the risk/abuse scores should be very low. IP2Location identifying it as hosting/datacenter is fine, since their detection is extremely strict.
For common sites like Google services, youtube, Reddit, and various AI websites, the IP should allow normal browsing without forcing me to log in first.

How are you measuring good IP reputation?
I ask because there's tonnes of different websites that give completely different results when it comes to IP reputation.

good luck with reddit. the muppets wont even let one use old anymore without logging in and their god awful modern crap site forces you to log in on mobile.
So you're looking for a residential IP.
no,a lot of residential IPs are delivered through SOCKS5 proxies and shared by a bunch of users. The IPs may look clean on paper, but in reality they're already completely trashed.
Lol there's no such hidden-gem VPS provider, if they are in VPS biz their IPs are already datacenter/hosting. Get ultra cheap broadband connections dedicate uplinks to mini raspberry pi and host your own Hidden-Gem VPS with "clean" IP.
You're going to be paying per GB transfer for this... $5 definitely won't cut it.
Cheap and good are not come together
