Are messages sent via Aster landing in spam folders?
Outgoing doesnt seem to work. Just stuck sending
That differs from my experience. Not once did I have a problem with executing a send command.
Thanks for sharing the review. Given all these signup bugs and the weird frontend checks, it definitely feels a bit rushed. Sticking to my current setup for now.
Reposting in case anyone is interested — Astermail is offering 50% off the first 12 months right now. Might be worth grabbing if you’ve been considering it.
What are your thoughts on Cloudflare's presence during webmail authentication? Any privacy concern?
Personally, I’m not too bothered by it. I don’t use AsterMail as my daily driver anyway, and I’m just a normal user, so I’m not particularly concerned about Cloudflare being involved in the webmail authentication.
I can understand why someone who is more privacy-conscious might have concerns, though. For me, it’s just not a big enough concern given how I use the service.
Another honeypot…
Probably a minor concern, but it's certainly a choice to claim GDPR compliance while being incorporated in Delaware. I know they're not necessarily mutually exclusive but rather than limiting themselves to one set of government overreach and privacy invasion, Aster has opted to double it. That's a lot of work at scale. The team seems US based.
They say they have an independent audit underway. Might be take a look at Aster when that's done, if it seems credible. https://astermail.org/transparency/
Could be interesting. If it is what it says it is, then that's a good thing. Need more services like it on the market. Competition is good for everyone.
