Hey LET, I'm looking for a unicorn VPS that routes outbound traffic through a cellular interface (4G LTE or 5G) for no particular reason.

Requirements:
<$2/month
1 x ipv4
Preferably unlimited bandwidth
A working VPS

Does such a unicorn or something similar actually exist?

Comments

  • At least $900/tb

  • Possible but definitely won't be even near your budget.
One of the options is to route your outbound traffic or some specific apps via one of those residential proxy providers, there are a few of them on LET as well.
The best one I tried is voidmob (no aff):
    https://voidmob.com/proxies

A much cheaper option for you will be getting a basic phone that supports eSIM, install it, make the phone a hotspot and route your VM via that.

Does it have to be cellular, or would Starlink do?

$2 can barely gets you 1-2GB of data per day for a monthly package, and it's coming from a country with affordable internet.

Similar to this, get a cheap cellphone on a network with cheap data, connect to tailscale network as exit node, route traffic from VPS through exit node.

That post must be satire. If you're serious, get a Raspberry Pi, a cheap dongle and SIM.

Keep in mind that unlimited data costs vary. In a place like Romania or India it should be cheap, but US/Canada will be expensive. In the US many Chinese brands are banned (e.g. Huawei) so that limits options.

If you really need a LTE/5G IP get a regular VPS and a residential proxy.

If you really want something owned by a cell carrier there's Scaleway. But Scaleway is a separate ASN from Free France or Iliad Italy and you won't get a Free/Iliad.IT IP.

    Tailscale works behind NAT.
