Dartnode blocked my account for no reason?
Hey all,
while the last Dartnode offer was running, I bought a VPS for a couple of bucks a year. So far so good. After creating the VPS it was really slow and I thought waiting a bit will make it better that the other customers on that node reducing their workload a bit. A month later, thursday this week, I tried to enter the server again and it was still very slow - anyway, I opened a ticket @DartNode and explained my concerns.
They were like "Yes, no problem. Any critical information stored on that machine - we will re create the instance on another node" and I answered "Not at all, feel free to do so" and I was very happy about the very fast reply, about the easy handling and about the solution driven support-tech.
I waited for a couple of hours - no more feedback about if the server was recreated. I've tried to login to my account with the username and password I stored in my password safe. Login failed. I was like "Okay!?" and just tried to get a new password (password reset) no mail reached my inbox. I've tried that couple of times but no password reset mail came in at all.
I reached out dartnode on LET. No answer.
I reached out dartnode by mail. No answer.
Guys I'm honest with you - I don't know what to do. Anyone made the same experience? Any other idea the get some attention by dartnode.

maybe your node was the noisy one, and terminated your account. I doubt that. Maybe try to log another ticket.
they seem to really only excel at marketing so you may very well receive a response now that you've created a thread, good luck!
Already on the scam list
I'll give it a try
The box was absolutely blank. I understand that point if there was anything installed, but again it was a fresh box, no software installed, no data due to poor performance after creating.
They probably double provisioned your IP then blocked you because the other tenant was spamming or port scanning. Ask me how I know.
I mean I don't know it. But if this is the case, why is there not a single communication? No word, not a single e-mail. They were working on my ticket and with no reason, with no annoucnment or information, I'm not able to login to my account anymore ..
Send me your ticket # or email and I'll take a look
Its so unfortunate that publicly creating threads garners responses feom providers rather than the official channels
And its not the first time with this provider nor others.
No clue if noted what node you were on to begin with so unsure how you can confirm if you moved/recreated on a different one without dartnode commenting.
If you do care about data, best bet if the whole manage root password thing isn't working, go into 'boot & iso' to download some live iso to mount/chroot in to do the needful
I know you said you don't care, just posting as a general thing in case someone else has something similar happen and wants the data/fix the creds.
If you don't care about data, you have two choices. Use their re-install option to start fresh and use the 'root password' that's listed on the left side of that VPS. You don't need to use the root password/manage access option under the VPS, just use the one that's listed and change it after you ssh in. The other option you have is to go into the 'boot & iso' option to download your distro install iso, select the proper boot order, and manually install it using the vnc console.
I don't consider a merchant who leaves hundreds of customers waiting in vain during a promotional event to be a good merchant.
Read OP again. He can't login to his panel to access the server. It's an account problem, not a VPS problem.
Thanks @keoir - this was resolved very fast. Thanks for your support.
[SOLVED]
And as always please ask mod angstrom or DP or FAT32 to close this (by tagging them and state to close this thread) or it will attract other troubled user(s) of Dartnode to add their trouble here instead of creating their own thread.
Why didn't you tag them?
@angstrom @DP @FAT32
Maybe thread owner still want to add something or any other rambling
I'm not thread enforcer, who am I ordering the mighty mod & admin in here
I only then flag the post after the thread owner asked them.
