EU VPS GDPR

I’m currently using RackNerd’s 8 GB KVM VPS (Black Friday 2025) plan. It’s affordable and works well for my needs, but RackNerd doesn’t currently have servers available in Europe.

I’m looking for an EU-based VPS provider suitable for business use and compliant with applicable EU data protection requirements.

It’ll host one or two Linux-based projects, so I’m looking for:
• Around 8 GB RAM (not a deal breaker for hosting 1-2 sites)
• A decent modern processor
• KVM virtualization
• Reliable uptime and network performance
• An EU data-centre location
• Clear GDPR/data-processing terms, ideally with a DPA available
• Pricing reasonably close to RackNerd’s promotional plans

I understand RackNerd’s Black Friday pricing may be difficult to match, but I’d appreciate recommendations for providers offering good value without sacrificing reliability.

Which EU VPS providers have you had a good experience with?
Please include the location, approximate price, specifications, and any business/GDPR considerations I should be aware of.

Currently
Paying $62.49 USD annually

Does anyone have any promos/offers?

Seems serious so I would use Hetzner, netcup, OVH.

Do we know if any promos or anything? I wouldn't say it's that serious a need.

From the recommendations you already got on reddit, I think netcup would be your best bet.

You may also consider @AlexBarakov (alphavps) as they also have affordable VPS plans and are GDPR complaint:

Since you mention these following terms, I would assume you are using it for actual production use and require pretty strict terms

"I’m looking for an EU-based VPS provider suitable for business use and compliant with applicable EU data protection requirements."

    "An EU data-centre location
Clear GDPR/data-processing terms, ideally with a DPA available"

This is why I think you should just look at the bigger EU providers who have a lot more clear terms and more reliable for your business. With a lot of these smaller hosts on LET, they may be great in terms of deals and whatnot. If you are actually using it for production, I would pay a little more for a bigger provider who is better suited for your use. Less chance of them deadpooling, servers going offline because their one and only DC lost cooling (1GServers reference :D ) etc.

Thanks, I'll review this as well, re: Reddit and here, looking to see if anyone has promos for their recommendations.

Thanks - Yeah, in the start-up phase of a business in the EU and hosting a web app with clients . New to all of this, just figured was nothing serious if i was currently using racknerd :expressionless: since its startup phase just trying to do it on a budget. (famous last words)

Thank you for the mention. In addition to GDPR, we're ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified, on the road to SOC2.
