  • A warning to anyone considering HostSlim
Based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend avoiding HostSlim. I paid for a VPS hosted in the Netherlands, but the server was repeatedly slow, unstable, and completely unreachable. It would sometimes work for only a couple of days and then remain offline for days or even weeks. At one point, the VPS had no working IPv4 address at all. This made the service effectively unusable.
Support was equally disappointing. My ticket history documents repeated reports of downtime from March through July 2026. Replies were often extremely brief, failed to resolve the underlying problem, and in one case I waited approximately a week for a response. Even HostSlim’s own system acknowledged that the ticket had been delayed.
After paying for a month in which I received, at most, about a week of usable service, I asked to cancel and requested a €24 refund. The service was terminated, but the refund was not issued. My separate high-priority billing ticket requesting the refund has remained unanswered since August 2, 2026.
In my experience, HostSlim provided an unreliable product, inadequate technical support, and no meaningful response to a legitimate refund request. Think very carefully before trusting them with a server or any service that needs dependable uptime.

nothing new, their provider tag should be suspended, I also have a VPS with him for almost a year now, BIG mistake

  • If u gave me this server for free, i’d still return it due to the ongoing cost and hassle of dealing with your company and services.

You should be paying LET members to take these.

I'd never use one in the Netherlands, but I've wanted to get one in Estonia for a long time. It's not a particularly common location so I can forgive reliability issues. Only problem is they block Tor sign-ups due to an excessively-strict noCaptcha.

I’ve personally never understood the pursuit of such unique locations, I operate multiple geo distributed services I don’t see how it would be a benefit of any-usecase who needs few ms faster to estonia?

I was thinking about to purchase the dedicated server, but saw the OS template drop down menu and it all made sense. Ain't gonna buy anything from provider who still haven't added Debian 13 image. The way this provider names Debian images is so funny, instead of going like normal person Debian 11/12/13 he goes with codenames. This is too funny.

Also this seems like total BS based on other people here on forum? Maybe you meant 24 days average reply time?

I run Tor relays, and a greater network diversity strengthens the network. That's the only reason I care about unique locations.

What do you mean code names? Like Bullseye, Trixie, etc.? Or some names he made up himself?

Just check the OS template menu during checkout.

Also looking glass is still broken, lmao.
