KRYPT / iON Cloud: 7-Year Customer — Prepaid VPS Term Changed from Jan 27, 2027 to Oct 2, 2026

I want to share my recent experience with KRYPT / iON Cloud as a long-term customer.

I originally purchased this VPS from iON Cloud in 2019 during a promotional offer, and I have been a customer for approximately 7 years.

My VPS was prepaid at $86.40/year. After my most recent payment, my service was originally scheduled to remain active until January 27, 2027.

However, while my prepaid service period was still active, the provider unilaterally changed the terms of my service.

On August 4, 2026 at 05:43, I received a support ticket notifying me of the change.

Original terms:

Provider: iON Cloud / KRYPT
Annual price: $86.40
Expiration date: January 27, 2027

After the change:

Annual price: $552.00
Expiration date: October 2, 2026

I did not agree to these changes.

I understand that providers can change their prices for future renewals. My issue is different: I had already paid for the existing service period, yet the provider shortened that prepaid period before it expired and changed the pricing without my consent.

The new annual price is more than 6 times my previous $86.40/year price.

I have been using this service since 2019. After approximately seven years as a customer, I am extremely disappointed that this is how a long-term customer is being treated.

This isn't simply about a price increase. It is about whether a provider will honor a prepaid service commitment.

I contacted the provider and requested that they either:

Honor my original prepaid service period through January 27, 2027, or
Refund the unused portion of the service that I had already paid for.

Unfortunately, I was unable to resolve the matter with them.

I also attempted to dispute the original payment through PayPal. PayPal refused to process the dispute because the transaction was more than 180 days old.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that the material change itself happened only on August 4, 2026, approximately seven months after the original payment.

I am posting this because I think existing and potential customers should be aware of how my prepaid legacy service was handled.
