I am happy with my server at QuickPacket in Ashburn!

  • 2 x E5-2690v4 (28c/56t),
  • 128 GB DDR4 ECC RAM,
  • 2 x 960 GB SSD,
  • 1 x IPv4,
  • 1 x IPv6/64 and 1 x IPv6/48 HE Tunnelbroker.net,
  • 250 TB at 10G,
  • Locally built FreeBSD-16.0-CURRENT,
  • ZRAID 1,
  • Ashburn, VA USA, and
  • $85/month.

It's $85/month, but it's also 10G and double disk. Many others charge more for less.

The QuickPacket panel has a great, always available HTML5 IPMI which seems to work entirely withut Java. No more .jnlp files! So I can install whatever I want whenever I want, since all I need is to upload an install ISO. The installer preserves the uploaded ISOs for later use on the same or different servers.

It's now a few days into my second month enjoying this nice server! Zero support tickets needed!

    Looks nice, especially seeing the two disk configuration. I feel like many configurations nowadays are just single disks.

    We can limit you to 1Gbps if you prefer. 250TB on 1Gbps would be pretty close to 1Gbps Unmetered unless you are maxing the port 24x7.

    Hello!

    I'm still enjoying my QuickPacket server! Everything continues to work excellently, as expected. Still no support tickets needed.

    Recently I switched the server from FreeBSD to NetBSD! Right now I'm trying NetBSD's ConCatenated Disk (ccd) RAID 0.

    If anybody wants to share the server with me, and is willing to help pay the bill, please let me know.

    I mean, it's a 10 year old CPU...

    Personally I've set my server rental floor at the Q3 2017 Xeon 6150 Gold or any Epyc processor.
