  • Also could use the 12 template and update in place. Any clanker can walk you through it.

    If you are concerned about your data, you can connect a drive to the router's USB port and automatically back up files via FTP; many systems support this. Telegram accounts get hacked if you don't enable two-factor authentication.

    @HostDZire Debian 13 Template for OS Reinstall

    Hopefully tomorrow, we had debian 13 already but it has some issue.
    We will fix it and enable it.

    @HostDZire any update sir

    Run this on any template that has GRUB:

    #!/bin/bash

    mkdir /netboot
    wget -P /netboot https://deb.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/debian-installer/amd64/{linux,initrd.gz}
    cat << EOF >> /etc/grub.d/40_custom
    menuentry "Debian netboot" {
        insmod part_gpt
        insmod ext2

        search --no-floppy --file --set=root /netboot/linux

        linux /netboot/linux nomodeset --- quiet
        initrd /netboot/initrd.gz
    }
    EOF
    update-grub
    grub-reboot "Debian netboot"
    reboot

    It'll reboot and you'll have the Debian netboot installer over VNC.

    Hello Everyone,

    The compensation for the recent VMware infrastructure incident has now been processed for affected VPS services.

    How to Verify Your Compensation

    You can verify that the compensation has been applied by checking your Signup Date and Next Due Date in your Client Area.

    The Next Due Date should now reflect the additional compensation period.

    For example:

    If you are on a Monthly Plan and your previous due date was 10 August 2026, your normal next due date would have been 10 September 2026.

    With the 7-day compensation, your new Next Due Date should now be:

    17 September 2026

    Compensation Applied

    The compensation provided is based on your current billing cycle:

    • Monthly Plan: 7 Days
    • 3-Month Plan: 10 Days
    • 6-Month Plan: 15 Days
    • Annual Plan: 1 Month
    • 2-Year Plan: 2 Months
    • 3-Year Plan: 3 Months

    Please log in to your Client Area and check the Next Due Date of your affected VPS to verify the updated service period.

    New Invoice & Payment

    Your next invoice will be generated based on your new, extended renewal date.

    If an invoice has already been generated using your old due date, please do not pay that invoice for now.

    We will cancel the old invoice and generate a new invoice based on the updated due date within the next 24–48 hours.

    During this process, if your service is automatically suspended because of the old invoice, please immediately open a support ticket. Our team will verify the situation and unsuspend the service.

    If Your Due Date Has Not Changed

    If you have checked your service and the Next Due Date still does not reflect the compensation after one week, please open a support ticket and provide the VPS/service details. Our team will verify the account and correct it if necessary.

    We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this incident and the recovery process.

    Kind Regards,
    HostDZire Team

    All node has been updated/patched,
    Moved everything private, nothing is accessible publicly, only VM has public network access.
    Multiple network level ACL applied too.

    Btw originally it happened only because new vulnerability came to vmware, just like it came to KVM weeks ago, but only fault from our side was we didnt notice the vulnerability in time and patched all the node, hence it effected us, it happened too soon to us, generally it doesnt happen that fast, few days ago a vulnerability comes and it already effect xyz provider instantly so it was also bad luck as well.

    @HostDZire said: However, this incident has already resulted in a very significant financial impact on our company, including the cost of rebuilding the affected infrastructure, replacing resources, and restoring services.

    I am so sorry to hear so. :neutral:

    Prompt re-building of the infra and deployment of VMs for the clients is what any reasonable/long-term client (unless they have a separate SLA with you) would expect.

    I would be more than happy to see my instance up and running but new IPs might be troublesome for some email hosters, if any.

    Any on-site/off-site backup options that are offered this time around?

    Kudos to the whole team. To the moon guys!

    We will work on backup systems yes, but it will take time to plan these things. need to check the cost because we are not charging much from client, adding backup options is additional cost, and same client would be so unhappy if we increase price even 10-20%

  • manishmanish Member

    It is of course, a paid add-on. So, no provider can include it in the base prices, can they?

    I am sure clients realize how important Geo-redundant backups are.

    Offering it as as an add-on, is that also something people object to?

    Thank you for your response.

    Yes paid addon can be done for sure, we will work on it in coming weeks.
