Damn thats crazy
@metricserversuk
Tried the KVM code on the exact plan from your post:
Code: KVM - 15% off full duration vaild on all KVM
1vCPU | 1GB Ram | 10GB NVMe | 1Gbps Unmetered Traffic | Linux | $3.37/month | £2.50/month
Order: https://metricservers.co.uk/store/kvm-linux-instances-uk/1-vcpu-1gb-ram-10gb-nvme-linux
Cart shows "15% Recurring Discount — £0.00GBP" and a warning: "The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet - please check the promotion terms." (screenshot attached) https://i.imgur.com/02V9rZ1.png
This is literally the KVM plan advertised in your own post, so the discount should apply. Can you take a look?
Also — noticed VAT @ 20% is applied regardless of billing country entered at checkout. Most UK hosts only charge VAT for UK/EU customers and zero-rate it for others based on billing address/IP. Is that not configured on your end, or is this intentional? On a yearly basis that's an extra £6/year on this plan alone (£0.50/mo × 12) just from VAT. What does that markup actually get me compared to other VPS providers who don't charge it to non-UK/EU customers?
Where is that mysterious screenshot attached?
I see this
which is... yeah...
@user0990 It works on a VPS for 12 GBP. It's strange that there are no intermediate plans.
@user0990 you can change the vat when you click on estimate taxes and change your country and hit apply
@Mainfrezzer just to clarify — I edited my original post above , screenshot link is in there now, plus added a follow-up question about the VAT.
I received the server access details by email after the purchase, but the SSH username shown there is my account email address instead of root: https://i.imgur.com/X959hQQ.png
I couldn’t connect using the username from the email. After changing it to root, SSH worked immediately. So it looks like the access email contains the wrong SSH username.
Also, the tax issue is resolved now, thank you. However, the option is very well hidden in the panel — without an explanation, I would never have guessed where to click to change it.
Good Morning,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We have fixed the username on the email template for SSH username so this shows the correct user for its service ordered, thanks for pointing this out.
The KVM/VPS 1vCPU | 1GB Ram | 10GB NVMe is now fixed when we added the promo Friday we must of not selected the plan to be part of the offer for new customers
VAT 20% is only charged to UK customers, when creating profile and entering address, the system will apply or wont apply the VAT based on information given.
if the system is unable to verify the address and the ip used - the system will add 20% VAT. we may then at this point reach out to the customer and request further documents to verify your account.
Kind regards
