no wonder why my india server stopped backing up things after 5th, Aug; changing to home server a while ago was a good decision, I think I will just wait for HostDZire to refund affected India servers and buy more RAMs :p

in order to restore progress, IP addresses are now being assigned at random, which is extremely, extremely, extremely troublesome for me. I need to amend the firewall restrictions for SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP and other ports on hundreds of servers; in some cases, I even need to change domain name resolution and a whole host of other details.

Are you doing that every time you deploy a new server to your fleet of hundreds of servers? Or do you have an automation and it's not actually that troublesome?

Do you think that putting pressure on the provider by constantly posting here is going to make them go faster? It's a bad situation, HostDZire needs to answer some tough questions when everything settles down. You need to understand that they can't just snap their fingers and get everything back online. I'm sure they are concentrating on India first because that is where the most effected services are at. What you and a handful of others are doing just makes things worse.

Again, they can't just magically rebuild everything. It isn't completely automated. They prioritized the work that would get more people back online quicker. Chill the fuck out. I have a VPS with them in NL and I'm not melting down.

ofcourse, every vps must be delivered exactly at the same time as everyone paid and no one deserves to get their server delivered earlier or later than anyone else

Stop being a dumbass that doesn't have a disaster recovery plan. Let me guess, you're an IPTV provider and all of your customers panels are down. If you were making money and doing anything legit, you could have been back up days ago.

    Hello,

If you have received the VPS activation email but your VPS is not working or is not accessible, it is possible that the VPS installation/reinstallation did not complete successfully.

In this case, you can simply reinstall the VPS again from your Client Area. The reinstallation should resolve the issue and bring the VPS online.

It is also possible that you have not received the activation email due to an email bounce, delivery issue, or another email-related problem. Therefore, we recommend checking your Client Area directly to confirm whether your replacement VPS has already been assigned to your account.

If the VPS has been assigned, you will be able to find the VPS access details in your Client Area, even if you did not receive the activation email. You can also reinstall the VPS from there if required.

    If You See an Error

If your VPS is already assigned to your account but you encounter any error while reinstalling the VPS or using other management functions, please open a support ticket with a screenshot of the error.

This will allow our team to identify the issue and resolve it much faster. Please avoid opening multiple tickets for the same issue.

    Current Provisioning Progress

We have now completed approximately 80% of the India Cloud VPS provisioning. We expect to complete the remaining India VPS assignments within the next 2–3 hours.

Once the India VPS provisioning is completed, our team will begin working on the Netherlands VPS services.

Currently, none of the Netherlands VPS services have been assigned yet.

We appreciate your patience while our team continues working through the remaining services.

    Regards,
    HostDZire Team

This was the default configuration we used many years ago. Normally, when we receive a new machine, we reinstall the system using an ISO image or network booting, rather than using the system templates provided by default by the service provider.
We would then strictly restrict access to all ports, applications, login credentials and other information on each server, rather than limiting ourselves to a single setting. For instance, with SSH which is the most widely used protocol we would configure it to prohibit password-based logins, implement port whitelisting, and use hosts.allow and hosts.deny to block direct access from unauthorised IP addresses on external networks. We have always regarded this as the most fundamental security measure; unless essential services such as HTTP/HTTPS on a few individual servers are permitted to accept external origin IP addresses from a CDN, all access from external networks must remain within predefined parameters.
However, things have not evolved as anticipated, meaning we now have to update vast amounts of information in bulk in advance. Some of these changes can only be made via rescue mode or VNC, as I am currently locked out myself; whereas in the past, I simply needed to run a script to send commands in bulk.
Although it is not particularly convenient, this remains the simplest and most effective method of protection. In the current AI landscape, I dare say there will continue to be countless vulnerabilities in the future, exploiting unexpected avenues to gain access.

Why don't you automate that? I've got 54 servers and whenever I need to change an IP in the firewall, I run a one-liner over SSH in a for loop for all of them. Old-fashioned method, but works.

@3K33 said: If the address make sense (even if provider care about it), you won't have problems...

    https://fakepersongenerator.com

As this was all an unforeseen circumstance, who could have imagined that, following a data loss, they would now be implementing a policy of randomly changing IP addresses? In the past, unless the service provider had moved to a new data centre, IP addresses were generally not re-assigned or changed.
This has meant that the permission isolation we had set up in advance has actually backfired; there are even some applications that I myself cannot access directly at the moment. They are configured in numerous places, not limited to any single setting.
The one thing I fail to understand is that HostDzire, a provider with decades of experience, must surely possess numerous unused IP subnets. If they had prioritised the random allocation of those subnets whilst retaining the ones already in use and allowed customers to manually switch back to the original subnets upon request once service was restored I believe this would have been the optimal solution balancing recovery progress and subsequent technical support. Unfortunately, they did not choose to do so. Perhaps it was a question of cost, or perhaps there were other reasons—including, but not limited to, the fact that they no longer had sufficient unallocated addresses to support this approach, or that changing the broadcast IP would require more time for configuration and debugging, amongst other factors.

    Confirmed.

I wrote back as soon as I saw the message saying any pool could be set up—the main thing was just for the server to be online. In the end, I haven't received a reply all day.

    Update – VPS Provisioning Progress

    Hello Everyone,

Here is another update on the VPS restoration process.

We want to inform you that 100% of the India VMware VPS provisioning has now been completed.

All affected India VPS instances have been recreated, activated, and assigned to the respective customer accounts in the Client Area. Activation emails have also been sent automatically.

    🇮🇳 India VMware VPS

    100% Completed ✅

If you have not received the activation email, please check your Client Area directly, as email delivery may sometimes be delayed or fail due to bounce or other email-related issues.

    🇳🇱 Netherlands VMware VPS

We have now moved our team and resources to the Netherlands VMware infrastructure.

Approximately 40% of the Netherlands VPS services have already been provisioned and assigned.

The remaining Netherlands VPS services are currently being processed, and we expect to complete the remaining assignments within the next 3–4 hours.

We are continuing to work on the remaining services as quickly as possible. Thank you once again for your patience and understanding throughout this recovery process.

    Kind Regards,
    HostDZire Team
