What's the worst VPS you've ever bought?
Was it:
1) terrible support?
2) oversold hardware?
3) fake NVMe?
4) awful routing?
5) frequent downtime?
No need to name and shame unless you're comfortable. I'm more interested in the lessons learned.

I don’t think anyone on here only have one regret though.
Veloxmedia: Got a refund, but having to deal with eric and his bullshit over Christmas really sucked.
C-Servers lifetime: Hasn't really been stable enough to do anything with, has frequent lockups, high cpu steal, etc.
Massivegrid: was one of those "its cheap, why not" purchases that quickly self-explained the why-not
Think that's about it for mine so far.

pretty happy with my last remaining mg (nyc) and it's kinda neat to have an nyc vps that's actually in nyc for a change.
I regret ordering from any host that deadpooled or went out of business.

I'm actually very happy with all of them I've ever gotten. I've very positive experiences with one in particular but that wasn't the question^^
OVH local zone VPS in Vienna.
Taught me the lesson that they don't have the means to run openstack based systems in a production ready manner.
(Dedis at OVH are great though).
Aluy HK location. Not because I don't like Aluy (they're great with unmetered traffic), but because right after I bought it, they lost that location due to a sustained DDoS attack. Not their fault, but I do wish I had waited a few weeks.

I regret getting over priced Swiss, Swedish VPSes, also LU VMs like BuyVM after seeing the amount of RAM German[Contabo/Netcup/php-friends], French [OVH - if lucky you might get a dedi for the same price] VPSes offer for half or 1/4th the prices at times.
I mean they were all good VMs but I believe I overpaid for the RAM.
Because my earlier projects needed more RAM as we [other IRC friends] use to host a lot of things for the community for free/donations.
Use to offer free things with hosting panels for all and a lot of other things too.
Even today, if you need more RAM like 8GB, you might want to pick the location very very carefully, DE being one of the best location for it. If not then go with French OVH, if you pick French Scaleway, you will cry again seeing the prices!
[DE, I jokingly say has state sponsored RAM or else it is just not possible. Maybe providers will share the reason behind it]

I mean this is just the sweetest beginner VM specs
for the price. Isn't it? Imagine paying like 2.5 to 3 times for the same/similar specs.
Biggest disappoinments were scaleway, oracle and aws, because of overcomplex interface. Clients shouldnot need a certificate for using their services dashboard. 'keep it simple stupid' expertise is lacking in their culture.

MaxKVM, I paid around $100+ for a yearly package, but they just outright stopping all service, luckily I paid with paypal and I got my money back.
Those are mostly corporate oriented and they need to sell certification, so this is why the interface is a bit bloated. However, it is not very difficult to learn it.

Besides that, hmm... DartNode. They've had so many problems with their new vibe-coded panel that it's caused significant downtime. But it was an extremely cheap BF deal so I'm not sure how much I really regret it...
