Dedicated Server Wanted — 10Gbps, BGP/BYOIP, DDoS Protection and Backups
I’m looking for a dedicated server provider that can host our ARIN-assigned IPv4 and IPv6 resources using our own public ASN.
Routing requirements:
- We have our own ARIN-assigned public ASN.
- We have an ARIN-assigned IPv4
/24. - We have an ARIN-assigned IPv6
/40. - Exact resource information will be provided privately after the provider has been vetted.
- We can provide an LOA and create the necessary RPKI ROAs and IRR route objects.
- We want to originate our prefixes through our ASN—not have them announced under the provider’s ASN.
- A full internet routing table is not required; a default route is acceptable.
- BGP and BYOIP should be included in the quoted monthly price without recurring per-prefix charges.
- Two BGP sessions to separate provider routers would be preferred.
Approximate server requirements:
- Modern 6–8 core or better processor; extremely high CPU performance is not required
- 32 GB RAM minimum, preferably ECC
- 1 TB usable NVMe storage
- Preferably 2 × 1 TB enterprise NVMe drives in RAID1
- 1Gbps dedicated, symmetrical, full-duplex network port minimum; 10Gbps preferred if available at a reasonable price
- Bandwidth consumption will be relatively low; network quality and port speed are more important than a large transfer allowance.
- Compatible with Proxmox VE
- Provider installation of Proxmox would be helpful but is not required.
- IPMI, iDRAC or iLO remote console and power control
- Provider-assigned management IP for installation, recovery and BGP setup
Network and protection requirements:
- Multihomed network with multiple upstream carriers
- BGP transit using our own ASN
- Support for our IPv4
/24and IPv6/40 - Always-on upstream DDoS mitigation
- DDoS protection must apply to customer-owned/BYOIP prefixes.
- Please explain the included mitigation capacity, attack thresholds and null-routing policy.
- Provider-side firewall or portal-managed network ACLs are strongly preferred.
- Please indicate whether the server has redundant network paths, switches or BGP routers.
- Please specify the number of physical NICs and whether VLANs are available.
Backup requirements:
- Provider-operated backup service must be available.
- Nightly automated or incremental backups are preferred.
- Backups must be stored outside the dedicated server itself.
- Offsite or separate-data-center storage is strongly preferred.
- Please specify included storage, retention, restoration process and pricing if backups are not included.
Please include the following in your offer:
- Data-center location
- Server specifications
- Upstream carriers
- Monthly price
- Setup fee, if any
- Included traffic allowance
- Overage pricing
- Any BGP or BYOIP charges
- DDoS-protection details

US locations are preferred, particularly the Midwest or Eastern US. Reliability, routing quality, responsive support and transparent pricing are more important than extremely high server specifications.

Adding the requested format and a few clarifications to my original post:
VZ Type:
Dedicated server/bare metal. Planning to install Proxmox VE and run KVM virtual machines.
Number of Cores:
6 modern physical cores minimum; 8 or more preferred.
RAM:
32GB minimum. ECC preferred.
Disk Space:
1TB usable minimum; preferably 2 × 1TB drives in RAID1.
Disk Type:
NVMe, preferably enterprise-grade.
Bandwidth:
5TB/month minimum. Actual usage is expected to be relatively low.
Port Speed:
1Gbps dedicated, symmetrical and full-duplex minimum. 10Gbps preferred if available at a reasonable price.
DDoS Protection:
Yes. Protection must cover customer-owned/BYOIP prefixes. Please state the included mitigation capacity and null-routing policy.
Number of IPs:
One or two provider IPs for management and BGP handoff, as necessary.
We will bring our own ARIN-assigned IPv4
/24, IPv6/40and public ASN. Exact resource information will be provided privately after the provider has been vetted.The addresses will be used for legitimate business infrastructure, including web services, VoIP, monitoring, management and other hosted service VMs. They will not be used for bulk email, public proxies, VPN resale, scraping, cryptocurrency mining or abusive activity.
Location:
Midwest or Eastern United States preferred. Other continental US locations will be considered if the network and routing are good.
Budget:
$80–$150 USD per month, depending on hardware, DDoS protection, firewall and backup options. Please disclose all setup fees and mandatory add-on charges.
Billing Period:
Monthly initially. Quarterly or yearly billing may be considered after the service has proven reliable.
Additional important requirements:
Please include any separate charges for BGP, BYOIP, DDoS protection, firewall service and backups in your offer.
