Anyone using HostingBy.Design VPS

jure12jure12 Member

Does anyone here use a VPS from hostingby.design ? Id love to hear your experience. Hows the uptime, performance, network quality, and support? Would you recommend them?

Comments

  • I'm also interested in someone's experience with it now I use them maybe 2 years ago I had this plan "E3-1230, 16GB, 2x2TB HDD"

Mostly using it as a seed box and to stream movies to my home network, don't know how well it will work if you were streaming to a large number of people it is a little slow but what do you expect from a E3-1230

Yes, I recommand. Their own data center is using AS number 211593.
I've been one of their clients for many years.

I’ve bought a few VPS, Dedis and App slots(seedbox) from them and would recommend. Pretty much everything is leaseweb. For VPS at least, billing is prorated which I find a bit annoying.

I currently have 5 VPS from them in NL
    Pretty happy with them

Why not buy directly from leaseweb? Except for dedicated server.

    heavy KYC
Usually don't work with a person (not business) entities
For a lot of people this is enough

Does anyone know which CPU models they use for their VPS offerings? Their website only mentions AMD EPYC, but I'm interested in the exact CPU model.

I've got vps in their Montreal

Based on what you posted, its not possible to determine the exact AMD EPYC model they are using. However, it looks to me like it could be an AMD EPYC 7002 (Rome), mainly because of the part you mentioned indicating that it supports AVX2 and SHA-NI.

From all of your replies, I understand that Zen 3 is available in Canada, while the Netherlands uses Zen 1.

I cannot say for others - We signed a multi-year deal with Leaseweb back in January and now solely get epyc Milan's in all of the sites we're in. Mainly 7413's, but the specific model isn't guaranteed, only that its Milan series.

We made this agreement to ensure we provide similar performance in all of our locations

The CPU flags in the VM is a generic one to ensure live migrations work as intended.

@khnielsen Thank you for your answer. As far as I understand, you are from the hostingby.design company.
