I wonder at what point providers will choose to just close down over increasing pricing knowing a high majority of the users will cancel this seems to be the new norm i think only the big dogs will survive and probably set a new floor price. The era of lowend is coming to an close

Secondly, it is hot as hell outside, might wanna stack up some cold beer also.

Let's be honest: this is not going to be a 1% to 5% price increase. This is likely going to be a price increase of 50% or more, based on how you stated your opinions already about the current hosting market needing price increases across the board.

With that in mind, my mouth is literally watering for popcorn right now. However, I am at work; ubt tonight I shall likely read LET with a bag of popcorn and a mouse cursor onto "Request Cancellation" button.

Thank you for the services provided so far. It was great while it lasted, but it seems evil politics don't want us to have nice things.

I still remember the pictures with spaceships on the offers. At that time I thought those offers would have lasted until we travelled into space and by some misfortune Host-C would have been assimilated into the unimind of The Borg for his server and linking knowledge of our planet. Now I realise I was wrong.

Yeah. I hate being rich too with such high refunds. Being poor is much more fun and more challenging, making one feel like they're alive from one paycheck to the next.

If I were you, I would donate such large refunds, or just give it back to help the poor providers.

Spoiler: the whole IPV6 only line will vanquish, and will be assimilated by the BORG Collective.

I am sorry, but it just does not worth the ticket effort with the usual subject: "hey, where is my IPV4 fuq head" :D

I’ve been following this thread since it popped up, especially because it’s from our good friend @host_c. Just sharing a few thoughts from a provider's perspective here, so please take it easy on me!

Hardware prices have been insane lately, and as everyone in the industry knows, they won't be dropping anytime soon. RAM and Drives are up 3-5x compared to last year, which hurts because they make up the bulk of our build costs. To give you an idea of how wild things are: for the first time in 13 years of business, manufacturers are offering us refunds on defective drives/RAM instead of RMA replacements.

Hosting prices depend on hardware, power, bandwidth, licensing, and overhead. When every single one of those costs skyrockets, keeping old pricing just means running at a loss. Ultimately, providers are left with two options: raise prices or deadpool.

We’re doing everything we can to hold the line: reusing hardware from our SolusVM to VirtFusion migration, slowing expansion, and stopping new orders for budget plans. But honestly, I’m not sure how long this is sustainable. We’ve even had to pause our OpenStack Cloud launch, even after finishing the testing and building our own control panel for it.

So please bear with providers who are forced to adjust their pricing. Nobody wants to do it, but a business needs margin to survive and keep the lights on.

    Stay strong, everyone!

The big 3, sk hynix, Samsung , micron got 76% operating profit margin and this is what they do to their customer. Infuriating
