[LOOKING FOR] Germany/EU VPS | €4/mo max | 1Gbps Port | High/Unmetered Traffic
Hello everyone,
I am looking for a reliable VPS located in Germany or elsewhere in Western Europe.
My requirements are:
- Location: Germany preferred; Netherlands, France, Belgium, or Ireland would also be fine
- Budget: ideally €1–2/month, but up to approximately €4/month if the provider and network quality are significantly better
- CPU: at least 2 vCPU
- RAM: at least 2GB, preferably 4GB
- Storage: at least 40GB SSD/NVMe
- Network: 1Gbps port preferred
- Traffic: preferably high or unmetered traffic with a clearly documented Fair Use Policy
- IPv4: 1 IPv4 address required
- Virtualization: KVM preferred
- OS: Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 or the ability to install a custom ISO
- Root access required
Intended use:
- Private family self-hosting
- Docker-based web/API services
- A private media streaming application
- NNTP traffic to a European Usenet provider
I currently have access to a very inexpensive German VPS offer at around €1/month with 2 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD, Frankfurt location and included traffic (1Blu Eco VPS). However, I am particularly interested in hearing whether there are providers with better documented traffic limits, better uptime, or more reliable KVM infrastructure.
Would spending up to €4/month provide a meaningful improvement for this use case, or would the cheaper German VPS be sufficient?

our RYZEN 4G in Eygelshoven, NL is 3.24€/mo right now instead of 4.99€ while our sale runs until 31.07. That gets you 2 cores on AMD RYZEN 5950X, 4 GB DDR4, 50 GB NVMe in RAID 1, 1 IPv4 plus IPv6 /64, KVM with full root and Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 from the panel.
On traffic there's no fair use clause to read carefully because there's no volume limit at all. No monthly cap, no counter, no per-GB overage, on a 10 Gbps shared port. For NNTP pulls that's the part that matters.
We're in NL rather than Germany, so if Frankfurt specifically is the requirement we're not it, though our range geolocates as DE in most databases. Custom ISOs aren't self-service but can be mounted through a ticket if you need one.
