HostBRR - Decent Backup but you Need to fix your House
I recently signedup for HostBRR , paid my 3rd Monthly Invoice today to be precise. The backup service is OK , provides decent speeds for my SLC Based 9950 and 5700G Backups and space is generous for 11$ I'm paying monthly, a lot more space than I had with Interserver previously and my backups have been successful as always notified by both server emails.
However, there are a few fallout wrt to overall experience I noticed.
They do not have a billing email. They one their emails come from , Its not reply to email. billing@hostbrr gives no such user here error which is odd as it is the email for all their billing emails and those emails don't mention it to be send only email.
Zero Overdue Tolerance - I had an invoice due on 25th July and i emailed them that i'm traveling and it will be paid within few hours and yet, bang 26th it was suspended ! I wish they were a little lenient on this part and give atleast 48-72 hours before suspending the services. More importantly, there's no way to reach them especially as mentioned in point 1 above.
All in all, the service works, the quota is generous but I hope they review their suspension policies, fix their emails and make the user experience much better ! As for me, I'm staying with them for I do not have much to complaint except this incident.

Comments
Only downside I can see with hostbrr billing is that invoices reminders are less that 1 week.
I did'nt had my laptop with me , was only communicating via gmail app and took that the email would be working as with any host.
Early renewal ? had last minute plans and so just missed payment by few hours . Invoice was due on 25th, its only 26th now and hence a little flexibility in suspension was what i suggested for cases like this. Its not exactly my right but a courtesy almost all of the hosts extend, correct me if i'm wrong.
Hmm, sending emails to [email protected] should open a ticket automatically. It won't happen if you reply to a auto generated reminder ticket.
If that doesn't work then let me know and it needs to be looked into.
As for the suspension, I think it's pretty standard to auto-suspend if a invoice is overdue by a day. I don't really know any providers that give a 72 hour grace period. That's like 10% of the entire paid service time.
You receive 3 reminders prior letting you know that this will happen. The service remains intact 3 days past the due date. After this it is canceled.
We are lenient with payment delays if we get a heads up. If it is critical to you then you should create auto payments to ensure nothing happens in case you are out of town and cannot pay.
*by the way you don't need to login to open a ticket. I would assume if you have Gmail app you also have a browser so you can open a ticket.
