need good vps for Russia

Hi everyone, can you recommend a good provider for operations within the Russian region?

Define "good". What's your desired specs (cores, memory, storage, network)? Purpose? Budget? Does it need to be anywhere specific in Russia or just within the borders? Do you care if connections outside Russia are censored?

Specifications, cost, and the like don't matter to me. What matters is that the server provider performs well within Russia; I know that some European countries also offer good performance in the Russian segment.

So, it means CDN-aligned spec? Low ping, high throughput, decent disk/cpu performance

Uhh, @onidel is aligned with DB/HA. Maybe @oloke could help suggesting new host that's more aligned with your goal

    Hi,

I'm curious about your experience, and how tests went overall.
To be fair, we never advertised anything regarding connectivity to residential russian internet and we don't offer servers in russia, so I'm not sure how the network performance is like.

    Hello!

Overall, the tests went quite well, and the Onidel servers performed very effectively; I’d like to explore further options to find the perfect service for my needs.

Servers for Russia are VPNs and proxy servers. As soon as you write that a particular provider's servers are suitable for Russian users, they will be blocked in Russia. Russia needs small, discreet providers.

I benchmarked (and had) quite a few VPS in Russia from russian providers over the years. The one I like for not crappy quality for a good price is 'ihor' and the one I like for good quality and performance at an acceptable (but not low) price is 'VDSina'.
I also saw 'gcore' mentioned multiple times by others (but never had one myself).

Which country is best to choose for RU?

I emphasized the relevant part in what you quoted from me.

    Hi,

You can test our servers in Russia on this page: https://www.robovps.biz/en/our_data_center/345-datacenter_rt_russia.html

Please note that many Western services are blocked in Russia by the government: YouTube, Instagram, Telegram, and others.

Sweden or Finland may be the better ones, but it does not matter as much. NL/DE will do just fine too.

Avoid fringe ones like Romania/Moldova/Poland/Bulgaria, those will route via Germany in most cases for a longer overall distance despite being "closer".

serv.host is not bad provider with a data center in the Russian region

If you simply want to say "thx", then it's preferable to click on 'Thanks'

(Saying thanks is the sole purpose of 'Thanks')
