10 hrs is really nothing for them, try 10 days.

hmm i think yes you are right
they took days to resolve the ticket

    as well king of overselling

Contabo is just a bit when it comes to comparison with Delux host

We take the time necessary to examine your request as for security reasons we cannot do otherwise.

Is that also the reason why the extra vcore ticket is open for 3 days already?

  • ticket #MLW-819630
my ports are already 10gb and i already have /64 ipv6 so one vcore or each service would be nice
    thanks

DeluxHost added compensation bonus to both of my vps servers. Thank you.

The compensation bonus has been assigned to your server (...). Please restart the server to apply the changes.

Really?I opened a support ticket as soon as they sent out the compensation email, but it’s been three days and I still haven’t received a response.

By number of orders and VMs there are probably hundred of requests for compensation and many will request for multiple VMs. Takes some time to work off that queue, I guess.

Then I got one core as bonus, SC performance dropped, MC was still at 1200. After the price hike, I got a 4th core, and again the same happens. SC performance dropped, MC stayed the same. I did not yet get my 5th core, but I'll assume it will happen again.

Confirmed! Geekbench Multicore with 5 cores is exactly the same speed as with 4 cores. The speed of the single core dropped proportionally.

I just checked within minutes before and after the reboot (of getting the bonus), so I have to correct my earlier hypothesis. It seems like the moment you get a new core from Deluxhost the single core performance is automatically proportionally scaled down, such that it does not really matter how many cores you have, you will always end up with the same speed summarizing all the cores.

Just to recap: The multicore performance with 2 cores from 6 months ago is now exactly the same as the performance now with 5(!) cores.

If single core performance matters for the service you are running on DH VPS, it might be even better to not take any more bonus cores since it will slow down your SC performance.

Anybody able to confirm this? I am on Y-Series.

I don't recommend buying their service. For almost a year, it never worked properly or fully. Problems arose constantly. Price-quality. And they kept promising to change everything. But in reality, they were just trying to sell as much as possible.

So in your case the single core performance dropped only by 5%.

I had the following measures on GB6 SC:
(548,518) before -> (460, 441); two measurements on two days to get significance
which is a drop of 18% on average after the compensation bonus was applied.

Anyone else who could possibly confirm the single core performance drop after getting extra cores?

    MC - 19634 -> 22169

I don't think performance difference is something made artificaly.

Pretty sure people getting their bonuses and running benchmarks is part of it, also more people getting back to the service as it seems stable for now.

Different time and day of week could also be the reason.

But yeah, you probably can't expect the same performance as it was on the relatively fresh node.

  • TandoorTandoor Member

In my zabbix it show both of my Delux VPs looks better than before. I don't believe what people write here now. But haven't run any tests.

True but benchmarks done 2 minutes apart should show that much of a difference

Not really, honestly. It would be the case, if it were reproducible statistically meaningful amount of times, but one comparison isn't telling us much.

Like... There absolutely could be something what makes sc performance regress with added cores (while still not being done intentionally I believe), but just two test runs can't really show that.

We need to know situation for the whole node to get proper conclusion.

Please do not buy a VPS from this company, even if it costs only $1. The moment you pay, you risk losing your money.

I purchased their Z-3 server about a month ago, and it never worked properly. I couldn't stay connected via SSH for more than two minutes without getting disconnected. I requested a refund within two days of the purchase.

Since then, they have kept giving me excuses and delaying the refund. It has now been almost a month. To make matters worse, they would automatically close my support ticket, even when I was the last person to reply, claiming that the customer had not responded for 72 hours.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others not to buy anything from this company. They seem willing to keep even a small amount like $15 without providing a working service, showing little regard for customer satisfaction or their reputation.

I recommend spending a few extra dollars and choosing a VPS from a reputable provider instead.

I'm sorry to hear this, but I'd still like to help. Do you have a ticket ID or something I can check?

Although I have to point out that I don't agree with some things.

I think it's obvious that the delay isn't just to avoid refunding $15. We're not at that level and we've never gotten there. One of the reasons is probably the ticket system, which has been overloaded for a month now.

DOD-585503 is the ticket number. I got a reply after posting this from Alessandro stating the "The refund will be sent ASAP.", Its been 2 days since that message nothing has be sent.

Tbf, after all this storm, I can say I will recommend deluxhost. I will make sure people be aware of things being somehow unstable.

But Matheo do work hard to resolve issues, and services is working properly right now. Not much of a hosters recovered after that big hit.

And yeah, I am aware there's issues, and I will properly describe it if I will advice this service. But I do have the reasons to recommend it now. It's freaking cheap.

Quality/price is unbeatable, even if quality lacking sometimes.

Thank you for sharing the test results.

The compensation bonus is intended to provide an additional vCPU, not to reduce single-core performance, and we do not intentionally scale down single-core performance when a bonus core is added.

However, we do not want to dismiss these reports. The results posted so far are mixed: some show a small reduction in single-core performance together with an increase in multicore performance, while others report a larger difference.

We will check the affected node configurations.
