Has there been any sort of response or changes from them? Just found them and had a feeling something was off, and searched here

(also sorry if necroposting isnt allowed forgot to check about it in rules)

Necroposting is usually disallowed but the last post was pretty recent so I don't think this counts as necroposting.

But no, as far as I know there have been no changes and there is no news.

Not really anything new. When they work, they're decent and at a pretty good price. Support... Isn't great. The ai bot thing is a pain in the ass, and even once you get through to the ticket system it can be days, or more, before you get a reply. So I can't really say they're something you can rely on to be consistently up and working... my last downtime was 6 days before I heard back from support. They've said they're working to improve support, so we'll see how things go on that front. Can't speak to the suspension thing - I was on the texas host that got killed for abuse, and my server came back fine without issue, not really sure if the logic they used to suspend folks made sense or not, tbh.

    Just to update:
They answered my ticket may 1 and everything's been working fine ever since.
They also commented on changes to improve support that in theory started last week.
So yeah, great prices, slow support.
If they truly improve that part they would be solid, at least for my usage.

  • I have one server in this provider. since 2-3 weeks ago the VPS will always got kernel panic so the OS will stuck and have to be manually rebooted.

The bad thing about this is that while it stuck on the kernel panic, the CPU usage will be ~ around 60-90% spiking all the time and the IO disk usage will be 2000-3000MB/s (I saw this on their vps panel). They have automatic suspension script of the VPS if the CPU usage is > 75% for over 1 hour. So because of the this reason my VPS often got suspended.

I managed to created one support ticket once and they said that they will make my VPS auto reboot when it stuck on the kernel panic. (But the solution never worked)

I tried to create another ticket, but this time I have to pay to create support ticket, because the reason my VPS is on a discounted plan and the price is below $12/year.

Since I cannot contact the support team. hopefully by posting this in this forum they can see it.

Should have purchased the extra ticket option

    • Starting from today, the rules communicated back in April for users with plans < 12 USD/year or not totaling => 36 USD global not having human support services (except if the Extra Tickets option is purchased), which despite communicated weren't yet pushed to the support system, are now in effect at the support system. Once the Extra Tickets option is purchased, re-detection is automatic, done in-chat, and allows to proceed with the escalation without any need to rewrite the issue.

I'm not going to buy the "extra ticket options" for telling @cservers team that the storage HOST vm of my vps potentially unstable/broken. The support person already knew from my previous ticket 2153, but decided to to properly fix the root cause of the problem.

I'll assume it's not to. Anyway, you're supposed to convince AI that there's a problem worth human attention, so Sonnet 5 will make ticket on your behalf.

  • AlteredParadoxAlteredParadox Member, Megathread Squad

Oh man, they even changed it so it doesn't let you make a new ticket form the hidden ticket portal anymore - for the longest time when they changed this, once you got ai to make a ticket once you could bookmark the url and open a new one from there, but that seems to be gone too now.

  • Oh boy, am I glad to have been kicked out (with a refund from the payment gateway).

Paying for a product, and then having to pay extra to get it to actually work??

    Or just do it yourself:

    echo 'kernel.panic = -1' > /etc/sysctl.d/reboot-on-panic.conf
    sysctl -p /etc/sysctl.d/reboot-on-panic.conf

    This is hilarious.

It's so bad that it makes me question whether or not the provider should even remain on LET.

If a provider is making people pay for broken services and refusing to fix the services (via willful ignorance) despite charging for them, isn't that at least deserving of a tag suspension?

  • I have to say, I don't usually act the MJJ, but this provider is incredible lol.

I bought a lifetime VPS ($99), mostly because I like to hurt myself, I'll admit it... but I face this beautiful situation: since this morning the server does not work, does not respond to ping, etc. In the panel VNC does not work. The console throws errors : "error: failed to get domain '[name of server]".

So I went to the support section to talk to the AI thingy. AI confirmed that the symptoms point to an hypervisor problem. AI wants to open a support ticket but my package is not eligible to a free support ticket. So AI says I need to purchase an additional support ticket pack. Like what @jangkrikboz posted above.

I've been trying to convince AI this was bullshit and eventually we both came to the conclusion that I should initiate the refund process, which immediately failed as well.

I had an old ticket from before the support ticket pack thing, so I'll reply to it in order to talk to an human is there is any left.

Already lost a few potential millions because of this.

Just to clarify a few things:

    • The AI support for the one-time payment services (DynamicVPS) has been fixed, it was due to a miscalculation on pricing checks. Naturally those with DynamicVPS always have access to support. The same for those with sub-12 USD and that paid ticket pack, which I'm happy to continuously review on quantity and pricing (e.g. introducing single-ticket and 5-ticket packs), but which is a clear necessity. With the present rising costs on the support and datacenter ends, it is essential to have a filter, adequate the offerings, and the alternative would be increasing prices on everyone by over 25% at this point. I've taken a different approach to what other providers are doing and preferred an different angle, emphasizing what needed to be addressed.

    • If the "Host Rep" tag was to be removed due to these changes, it would be a) unfair, as several other providers either don't provide or have similarly criticized support (for the same and for different reasons); b) leave LET without any representation, nor any campaigns when we have them. Doesn't seem wise, correct or helpful for any customers or for the forum.

    • At the moment an exception was introduced when, even below 36 USD total, if a customer has at least 1 product over 12 USD and an issue that affects 2+ servers, the ticket is still created and addressed for both - so the 36 USD requirement has actually been relaxed since the last communication in April.

    • We are aware of punctual issues (not server-widespread, by far) at Zeta.5 New Jersey, the only server showing those at the moment, that could cause a kernel panic, and are taking a look at these to sort them out to the best possible extent. Regardless of regular sub-12 USD customers reporting to us or not, naturally higher-paying customers will also report these generally server-wide issues; we always continuously monitor; and will always check and correct all virtual servers at a given fleet for similar patterns.

    • All sub-12 USD users with general issues like this one (e.g. successive kernel panics, reinstalls failing on a panel, loss of IP comumunication on an unchanged virtual server, things that essentially work to be on our side and need to be checked) can still take the route that anyone can take of sending an e-mail to the general e-mail, company[at]c-servers.co.uk, and they will be seen and answered. That is not a support e-mail, it's low-priority, the e-mail isn't checked every day, and it's treated in volume as well. But they don't get without help on these - it's only treated in bulk, for efficiency.

Lastly, and to be crystal clear: no one can reasonably pay 3 or 4 or 6 or 7 USD for a year, or 2 years, or 3 years, holding 1 single service only, and expect adequate direct support at any provider. In LET or out of it, doesn't matter. Can't be done long-term, the economy of scale isn't there.

When an hourly wage in this industry is what it is, and tickets have been progressively more paid as they are, no provider is able to continue to provide an adequate support past a certain level of growth without one of two things happenning:

    • delaying answers and resolution for everyone, to the point where a ticket takes 2/3/4/5 days to be answered and everyone, from the least paying up to the highest paying customers, starts to complain and the provider then has a huge backlog of tickets to sort out;

    • worsening the quality of the answers to single-line or at most 3-line answers, with the ticket pressure amounting.

These lead in turn to less trust, more refunds on higher paid purchases, and it's a path that is not advisable for any growth.

At the beginning of the life of this company, it was possible for me to provide specialized support when the company had half of the customers it has at the moment, and to manage things, and did it happily; with the increase in the number of customers, I've found unfeasible to continue providing support in the same scheme due to both the added pressure, and the significant disparity between paid requests and original paid-for service, which essentially sealed what needed to be done.

The posture and the panel changes have paid (and will continue to pay, as we expand) for more effective automation on managing central things of the day-to-day life, more support assistants, a guarantee that prices won't increase through the end of 2026 (and I'm looking forward to do longer than that), more responsivity on the support, and some interesting news coming around very soon (the long-awaited dedicated IPv4s available on our ASN, the IPv6 renumbering, special campaigns, etc).

Ultimately, these are what everyone desires.

That shall be my only statement on the matter. Best regards.

I indeed got support after I replied to the old ticket, and I'm happy that losing access to support for lifetime service was due to a mistake. Can't comment on the rest.

We can and we do. We don't use support unless it's your fault and you need to fix it.

Tickets should correlate with downtime, so the less downtime and issues, the less support needed.

If your support is overwhelmed, your poor service is the issue.

No one is asking for "adequate direct support". They just want to be able to alert you to a hypervisor issue. If you can't handle delivering a $7/year service, don't deliver a $7/year service. It's as simple as that. But if you do, you have to either 1) proactively ensure every VPS is minimally functional or 2) accept tickets in case there's a node problem.

    • delaying answers and resolution for everyone, to the point where a ticket takes 2/3/4/5 days to be answered and everyone, from the least paying up to the highest paying customers, starts to complain and the provider then has a huge backlog of tickets to sort out;

The vps got kernel panic because of the potential disk problem from the HOST node. while it's on kernel panic, it sky rocketed the cpu. then your system flagged as the vps is using high cpu then suspended my vps.

The more funny thing, I even already mentioned the ticket id on this thread on my previous post and you or your team didn't take a look at all. because i have no way to contact you via support ticket. also cannot reply to an existing closed ticket.

luckily i have external backup of the content somewhere else so i moved the application to another provider.

so yeah. this is the last time i will be complaining to c-servers, because i will never use the service again in my life. I hope everyone that read my post will consider 10000% times before ordering server with them.

"Please contact us if you believe this is a mistake. Haha kidding, you aren't allowed to contact us, peasant!"

Scammer gonna scam. I feel bad for the people who already paid. Anyone who buys new services with this host deserves what they get.

I cancelled 4/6, the last two are eligible for support, and one is a lifetime box, so shrug. It felt like it was the cheaper ones that often had issues anyway. Was mostly happy with my servers until the last few weeks, even willing to deal with the support thing as long as there was a way through it... now its just kinda meh. It would definitely be beneficial if there were a middle ground for people to get ahold of support when servers are down/broken on the host side, is probably the one thing I'd say at this point.

    lol, ikr.

btw, the most fundamental things i believe is if the vps is reliable and stable, they will not be gotten so many support tickets. and this particular LET thread will not be having so many replies.

Absolutely. Even Chunkserve is doing better and he's literally getting slammed with complaints about slow ticket responses. But at least he's actually working to fix things when people point out that their service is non-functional, albeit slowly.

  • There are conmunity-run abuse databases where someone could just make a few accounts, report the same IP address a few times, and get the hosting account banned. If I were a hosting provider, I would ignore these darabases because they are too easy to abuse.

Funny fact: I just got two service abuse notices from a provider because they detected an outbound connection to a blacklisted IP. That's right, abuse by connecting to a blacklisted IP (which is not mine). :D
