Suggest premium provider tag for solid providers
recently there lots of threads on bad network, mia or unreponsive providers.
e.g. more and more LET user open thread here instead of tickets at providers' platform.
i suggest give another elevated level of provider tag - solid, premium, hardcore, veteran whatever
for providers that been around LET for > 5yrs, earned praise from users, top 3 in yearly poll should gain some recognition. this will also help and direct newly joined LET newbies to scout for resilience VPS to host their 'critical', 'business', 'company', 'million-dollar' data.

Normal tag costs $200.
Premium tag costs $500?
PS: Most of the providers with "Top Provider" in their name are solid. Sure the voting is a popularity / meme contest but the majority of those with that tag have actually earned it.
Do we also need to pay more bilohbucks for that?
Ah, MannDude beat me to it.
Sure, that'll be 500 of the finest biloh bucks per month please
Skill issue ?
But, why ?
I’d also chuck in a history-repeats-itself tag with a -0.1% interest rate. Instead of coughing up a fee, any VPS provider using this tag actually gets paid from the fees collected from providers using other tags. sharing’s caring, mate.
Yeah man while you on it please add shiny effects to the status, some stars and glitter.
and threads created by special providers have sticky gule that stuck onto TOP of 1st page offers for 1 week.
JUST COPY AND PASTE THIS RETARDED QUOTE FOR A CHANCE TO DOUBLE YOUR RAM
Yeah, more retardation is very desperately needed. It will attract more chromosomatically imbalanced premium users to write more write dumb shit no one cares about or finds funny.
I suggest we change the tag to 'Supreme'
Do you run any BF sale by chance?
I pasted it twice. Can I have quadruple RAM now?
Let's remember "the management" here had a "Patron Provider" (aka accepted as recognised provider) a fucking kid who scammed another blog member of 22K USD equivalent in crypto.
Some of us (myself included) had to do extreme detective work for "the management" (you can read Biloh too) to actually consider removing his provider tag and flag him as a scammer. Not to mention the amount of work needed to be done to actually ban him; including researching official authorities papers to have proof against his lies.
The only reason worth staying on a community like this is the community itself. Else, it's worth nothing. That's why I will never pay for anything here, including a provider tag. Take it as my protest if you wish.
Am I trustworthy without a paid tag? IDK. Never scammed anyone of 22k USD.
@MannDude "JUST COPY AND PASTE THIS RETARDED QUOTE FOR A CHANCE TO DOUBLE YOUR RAM"
As my high school English teacher would always correct me. It’s retard. Retarded is not a word.
As much trustworthy as before the silly tags even existed. It's monetization. Nothing more nothing, nothing less and everyone expecting some kind of screening, vouching or endorsement is just silly.
There's a fair share of tagged hosts around here that certainly aren't outright scammers but are still best to be avoided for various reasons. Research, research, research, a little luck and a calculated risk of things not turning out exactly ideal... there's simply no way around that. Bottom of the barrel pricing seldom comes with certificates guaranteeing perfection.
i lost track of which thread but they were moaning about how let had gone downhill since x y or z and i restrained myself from replying but you can have it here: it's gone downhill since it was first sneak-purchased by a hosting company, which led directly to where it is today.
providers paying $200 for the privilege of farming us at a rate of $7 per while throwing up restrictions and caveats to ensure they get to keep the cash when they inevitably fuck up your day due to incompetence or malice and the king sits in his castle finding new ways to monetize your efforts at community.
you have to be impressed.
It goes to the digital ocean + cloudflare tax
Well, yes and no. At least i think there's multiple layers to it. To me it doesn't really change much if i'm not buying from some guy with or without a tag and as far as the fate of successful projects is concerned i can't help but appreciate at least the hands off moderation approach.
In the end you obviously have a point. A lot of the change in tone and all that can likely be traced back at least to a good amount to the aggressive monetarization. On the other hand keeping projects online for years and years with nothing to show but a monthly bill and some time you could have also spend elsewhere gets pretty tiring after a while.
