I was cheated out of 24 US dollars when purchasing the server.

tim_yutim_yu Member

I was cheated out of 24 US dollars when purchasing a server. I contacted the person in charge via Telegram. I paid 24 USDT to him. He then deactivated my account. His website is https://portal.websilica.com/. Please don't be deceived by him anymore. His forum account is https://lowendtalk.com/profile/backbetallc.

So i was looking at the tg images...

    Host is a leaseweb reseller
OP said great website, 30TB BW outbound
    Host said Yes
OP said "Is Inbound unlimited" and "Is it possible to exit the station indefinitely?" (translated using google translate)
    Host said Inbound is unlimited
OP: Why can't i pay with Alipay
Host: you can pay with alipay by stripe. or you can do wechat
OP: There is no Alipay or Wechat Pay. Do you have Telegram
OP: COuld you send it to me
    Host: @mr_intant_bd
OP: Why did you lose your account? Send me another one
    OP: Answer me again

Something something later OP sends 2 screenshots of payment and host confirms payment? OP asks something then Host asks if he is a student but OP talks a lot and asks for a refund where as host just says that OP will get his money back in 10 days & host asked someone to cancel it (prob another staff member) and host said to go on the website to make a ticket and request a refund.

    Wow... MJJ

I just had a quick look at this, and I'm noticing some possible links to FijiHost, which also appears to be operated by a Mr "MD ISLAM", as seen in the screenshots shared by the other user.

@tim_yu, if you have anything else you can share, feel free to send it over and I'll dig a bit deeper to see if it's really them.

    Cheers.

Oh, looks like there are also dotted lines to MetWeb.

P.S. These are just my personal findings, but I'm leaving these details here in case they show up again, so people know to treat it as a red flag.

His website is https://portal.websilica.com/. Please don't be deceived by him anymore. His forum account is https://lowendtalk.com/profile/backbetallc.

We would like to provide clarification regarding this situation, as there appears to be a misunderstanding regarding the account ownership and service purchase process.

The customer information we have on file is:

    First Name: 高
    Last Name: 高
    Previous Name: Gao Gao
    Email Address: [email protected]

The VPS service was not directly purchased by this customer through our website. Instead, we were contacted by a third party named La Na (reference: https://prnt.sc/TfO5TS_y4gTu), whom we had no prior relationship with.

La Na contacted us and requested pricing for a Leaseweb VPS service, asking about our affiliate commission offer. We informed him that we could provide a 20% affiliate commission. He agreed to this arrangement and manually paid for a VPS L2 plan ($7.99/month) using cryptocurrency during our promotional campaign.

La Na specifically requested that we manually create the VPS order under the account [email protected], as he wanted each service to be managed under separate accounts. Based on this instruction, we created the order manually under that account (reference: https://prnt.sc/ATvq0m9557z0).

At that time, our understanding was that La Na was the actual customer/owner of the service, and the email account was only provided as the destination account for the service setup.

Before activating the service, we clearly informed La Na about Leaseweb's bandwidth policy. We explained that the VPS included 30TB bandwidth, and any usage beyond this limit would result in additional charges from Leaseweb. We also informed him that if he wanted to cancel the VPS, he needed to notify us before the 1st of the month to avoid the next billing cycle. La Na confirmed that he intended to use the VPS continuously.

However, after a few days, the VPS exceeded the included 30TB bandwidth limit. As a result, Leaseweb generated an additional bandwidth usage charge of SGD $118 (Leaseweb Invoice: 91962045, reference: https://prnt.sc/6SPcg_WiPgQp).

We contacted La Na and requested payment for the additional bandwidth charges, explaining that we would need to suspend the service if the invoice was not settled. Instead of making the payment, La Na requested that the VPS be suspended. Following his request, we suspended the service.

Additionally, La Na had requested another VPS L1 plan with annual billing (previously priced at $60). This request was later cancelled after the above incident occurred.

We would like to clarify that we have not committed any fraud or misrepresented any information. The service was created based on the instructions and payment received from the person who contacted us. We have maintained records of the communication, payment details, and service requests.

If any details wrong here you can mention those.

So what you're saying is you're not affiliated with backbeta.com, or "BackBeta LLC"?

    Thanked by 1totally_not_banned
  • We are not affiliated with him. He is an affiliate who promotes our websites and drives sales, as he has done before.

Also, have you checked all of the attached screenshots? The issue was related to a Leaseweb invoice that included an overcharge, which is why we suspended his services.

Another point: I'm not speaking to you directly; I'm speaking with the customer. Please let him respond. Ask him why he never contacted us before purchasing the service. He had multiple opportunities to reach out to us but chose not to. That said, we're not here to accuse anyone.

If the customer would like, we're happy to offer a free month of a regular VPS with the same specifications as a goodwill gesture.

To be clear, $24 USD is not worth scamming anyone over. We have invested more than $2,000 USD in developing our custom client portal alone. Do you really think we would risk our reputation over such a small amount?

So He was scammed by the middle-man who didn't tell the customer that bandwidth is limited and never contact back after bandwidth overuse?

Not related to any of those as well?
