It seems so, 247 ticket isn't working at all.

This would be the end of an era. They are older than many members here.

I didnt hear about any law enforcement in Malaysia concerning IT/Internet, could also not find anything quickly (only some busted callcenters).

    They definitely were profitable.

  • edited July 5

They still posted to Twitter 7h ago. People are commenting that their servers are down but there seems to be at least some kind of life.

their domain registrar is online: https://www.ilovewww.com/

or did you mean their services/servers are down for you?

  • bbmmsvr4ubbmmsvr4u Member, Patron Provider

Well, i couldn't access the VPS~ and their support ticket domain called 247 or something..hahha but they're in the market for so long

It beig Shinjiru means the lack of communication is hardly proving anything really, at best its just DDoS in MY. I think they have other location also but i have no test IP.

  • koalzakoalza Member

update - Hi, Thank you for reaching us out.

Unfortunately, we would like to inform you that we are currently experiencing a high-volume DDoS attack.

Our Network Team is still actively working to mitigate the attack as quickly as possible. Sadly to inform, we unable to advise on the ETA as well.

In the meantime, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

We will keep you updated as soon as we have any further information.
    Thank you.

  • WilliamWilliam Member

Ok, yea, this is what i expected, not the first time.

  • JasonMJasonM Member

shinjiru has slowest support. wait for 4-5 days to get an official reply.

  • WilliamWilliam Member

Yes but you dont buy from them for support, you buy because what you do is just shady as fuck, whatever it may be.

If you want average, legal, MY hosting there is like 50 good legit ISPs out there.

    Dear Valued Clients,

We are currently experiencing a network issue that is affecting connectivity across our subnets.

Please be assured that our engineering team is actively working on the fixes and implementing steps to mitigate the issue as quickly as possible. We understand how critical your services are, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this disruption is causing.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you posted with regular updates as we work to restore full service the soonest possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I used to have servers with them, but the hardware was unreliable... good thing we don't use them for critical services anymore.

  • forestforest Member

It's a shame they aren't as lenient as they used to be. They don't even allow Tor exits anymore.

I have been able to establish some communication with them, they say they got carpet bombing, no clear intentions from the attacker. They say their mitigation provider, gre tunnel endpoints get targeted as well. And their CTO and the team has been battling it overnight.

No update via email / official channel from SHINJIRU to the public and to customer about the DDOS attack towards their network. Their entire infra was DOWN !! Such a shame company !! No DR site to handle such issue. Meaning they're NOT READY for long term business. A lot of issue on routing, email, ipv6 even Cloudflare traffic can't reach anything inside Shinjiru network. They should follow like other oversea provider (NETCUP.DE / CONTABO.COM), put all server/network status on website and put any annoucement for maintenance / attack. DON'T TRY TO SWIPE ANYTHING UNDER THE CARPET !! Bullshit company !!

Later don't blame us as a customer why we don't support Malaysian business. We have to switch to oversea provider (NETCUP, CONTABO, HOSTINGER, DIGITAL OCEAN, etc) if Shinjiru does NOT care about customer requirement !! Overseas provider is MUCH CHEAPER, GOOD SPECS AND FAST compare to Malaysian provider even we pay in Euro / USD.

What say SHINJIRU ?? ASK YOUR CEO / CTO reply here if he is not COWARD !!

Shinjiru is not someone you use to host a legit project, never was, and even never claimed to be a "nice" network, its a semi BP hoster and BP hosters simply go down at times, this is life.

Hi guys, got 5 VPS's with shinjiru, and they all back down again, after being up most if this morning, I feel its not fair that its not being published about the issues they are facing, and not keeping us in the loop, we have had to find out our selves through posts etc as the site to check news on shinjiru wasnt workingfor me, shinjiru sort it out, im loosing a lot of customer satisfaction and £ for this, and there is nothing I can do to point them in the direction to show them that this issue is not caused by us, not fair considering how much I pay per month for services and being a long term customer.

Thats because MY police does not really uderstand Tor, much like i my case back then, and will come i force to seize the datacenter in its entirety. Its not a democracy with real due process and the laws can change just like that.

    Maybe... thor they know

I am also like 90% sure to operate a VPN service in MY, be it free or paid, requires licensing and Tor likely falls under that law.

They used to allow it, but in general they're no longer as lenient as before. Same with Novogara (Ecatel).

Ironically government ISPs are ideal for exits because the police will not fight them but the Ministry of Telecommunications or similar. Sadly they are also kinda useless as they likely tap them instead of shutting it down. Exit data IS valuable even if most is just encrypted nowadays like everywhere.

Exactly. People who are unfamiliar with Tor always go to the conspiracy that "most exits are run by feds" when in reality, most exits are run by a few well-known groups. The actual danger isn't sybil attacks or infiltration but rather silent tapping of legitimate relays at the AS-level. That's the reason I focus on diversity for my relays.
