@MAXKO_Hosting (https://maxko-hosting.com) has a location in Johannesburg with unmetered bandwidth, starting at 100 Mbps I believe (add €10/month for 1 Gbps shared or €60/month for 10 Gbps dedicated). They're out of stock at the moment, but you might be able to ask if he could fit one in for you, or just wait until they're back in stock.

Note that AES-NI was disabled by default when I registered a VPS with them, but they kindly enabled it upon request.

    Hi,

In case you don't find any South African VPS that suit your needs, Melbicom has VPS in Lagos for 5.7 €/month:
    CPU 1 core
    RAM 2GB
    Storage 20GB
Bandwidth up to 1 Gbps. If the monthly quota 1TB is exceeded, the throughput is reduced to 10 Mbps.
    Data transfer Unmetered

Whoops, I mean €60 for 1 Gbps dedicated (or €120 for 10 Gbps shared, €360 for 10 Gbps dedicated).

Really fascinating, this means ZA BW prices are now down to Europe+50% area.

10 years ago 1Mbit BW in ZW was at least 40$ (but NOT sat), then the big cables came and the HE POP sealed the deal finally. IIRC even Cogent has a pop by now and they usually neglect anything non US/EU forever.

I cant help much, i prefer to host my only African box in Namibia for personal reasons (do not like ZA, politically and generally). Sadly at my providers BW prices its not interesting to you, 1Gbit would cost like 2000US$.

I used Zappie in ZA before and Melbicom(?) in Lagos, both very good also.

What is your provider? OP may not be interested but I am. Even 20 Mbps would be acceptable.

The only other African location I've used is Nigeria with SiteHub.

I am with Telecom((.na), there is really not much choice.

English support lacks at times as they are used to Afrikaans and German.

I dont think they sell VPS; our 2U with 300W and 25Mbit (+BGP) cost somewhere like 175US$.
