[WANT] High-Perf US/CAN VPS — 6+ vCores, 12GB+ DDR5, NVMe — $40ish, flexible

duziyduziy Member
edited July 3 in Requests

Looking for a high-performance VPS for a live multi-threaded workload. Need strong, stable CPU performance.

Must-haves:

  • Location: US East Coast, Central US, or Eastern Canada (Chicago, Ashburn, Canada preferred — no EU)
  • CPU: High-frequency AMD Ryzen (7900/7950X/9950X) or newer EPYC 4004/9004 "F" series — strong single-thread performance is key
  • Cores: Minimum 6 vCores (3 physical cores with SMT) — dedicated/VDS CPU is a big plus but not strictly required if the node isn't oversold
  • RAM: Minimum 12GB DDR5
  • Storage: 120GB+ NVMe (ZFS or hardware RAID preferred)
  • Network: 1Gbps-10Gbps unthrottled with enterprise DDoS filtering (Path.net, CosmicGuard, etc.)

Budget: Targeting around $40/month, but I'm flexible — if the deal is good, I'll consider going higher.

Drop what you've got or hit me up for a custom build.

Prefer to be monthly payments, can be for a commitment as long as the specs are met and you are reputable,

Thanked by 1forest

    Thank you mate!

@duziy We don't currently have any high frequency VPS available - however I'd be happy to work up a really competitive Dedi option for you? Feel free to DM me!

We have some Ryzen 7700's available and they were pre hardware increases, so we can be aggresive on pricing!

    UPDATE on Requirements:

Hey guys, updating my original post requirements based on what I need for this deployment. The original numbers were my absolute lowest spec range, so please see the preferred tier below before dropping offers:

    • CPU: AMD Ryzen (7900/7950X/9900X/9950X) or newer EPYC 4004. Open to other fairly new Ryzen-based CPUs as well, as long as they feature high frequencies and strong single-thread performance.
    • Cores: 4 full physical cores (8 dedicated, pinned physical threads) is the ideal sweet spot. 3 full physical cores (6 pinned threads) is my absolute bare minimum. No standard shared, oversold vCores.
    • RAM: 16GB DDR5 preferred. 12GB is my absolute minimum, but really not ideal.
    • Network & DDoS: 1Gbps to 10Gbps unthrottled port is a must-have. Uncapped bandwidth is heavily preferred, but if there is a limit, it needs to be high. This will be used for a game server, so robust DDoS filtering is required (Path.net, CosmicGuard, or a custom deployment that is in-house is also good as long as it's stable and reliable).
    • Location: US East, Central, or Eastern Canada (Chicago, Ashburn, Toronto preferred — strictly no EU nodes).
    • Provider Rep & Testing: Must be an established, verified provider on here with a good track record and solid reviews. Please include a Looking Glass IP or test IP with your offer.
    • Hardware Details Needed: When dropping an offer, please give me the specific details on your hardware speeds—specifically your RAM speeds (MHz) and storage speeds (NVMe read/write specs or a quick benchmark).
    • Budget: Around $40-$45/month, but flexible and willing to go higher for a premium node and routing.

If you have a custom dedicated-thread slice/VDS that hits these numbers, let me know! You can reply directly here, PM / direct message me on here, find me on Discord @duziy, or reach out via email at [email protected].

Good try, but I think you need to look at dedicated server at this point and up your budget.

It is simply not doable given current prices and circumstances. Just trying to get 8 dedicated threads and 16GB DDR5 is rough. But you also need DDoS protection and unmetered port which is not possible for many.

I think the best you can do is go for one of OVH Eco dedicated servers that is available in their US East (Vinthill, VA) or Canada (Beauharnois, CA)

    Thanks for this reply.

I'm well aware of this already, but honestly, you'd be surprised. I've already gotten a few offers that fit right into that price range and actually look pretty good, which is, unironically, why I wanted to make this update and see what else other people might have hiding around.

If nothing else hits the mark, I'm open to keeping an eye on an OVH Eco line, but I figured it was worth checking what the boutique providers on here might have first.

And again, that price range and even those specs are not necessarily set in stone if the specs are good enough for my use case.

That's good. A word of well meant advice though: Do background checks on the offers. Like reviews or at least general comments by actual clients. I regularly see offers i wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole and the fact those people seemingly don't want to share their deals with the public is also moderately (it might just be a custom deal by some reputable host after all, which is obviously perfectly fine) fishy, since chances are those people do it in private due to lacking the actual authorization to post deals. If it seems to good to be true chances are that's because it is.

yup, that is exactly my thoughts. Lots of shady discord or telegram hosting providers with no rep that may or may not die after a couple years because they are selling unsustainable deals.

    I recommend the Gatewaysentry.
Its network up to 10Gbps, the anti-DDOS system is excellent. Plus Outstanding firewall features and network/web protection.
    It fully meets your requirements.

Appreciate the advice, guys, and you are 100% right. I've been around the block enough to know that if a provider isn't verified on here, or if they are operating entirely out of a sketchy Discord server with unsustainable pricing, it's an immediate pass. The offers I'm looking at are from actual established names doing a custom slice, but I'm definitely doing my due diligence.

@tof thanks for the recommendation. Definitely interested in looking into them.

Btw, I just discovered today that you can enable/customize the "Boot Secure" in EFI—it's a feature only on some high-end VPS, demonstrates their level of virtualization and the security of the backups across regions.

Oh that's pretty cool, though to be fair, isn't that just the standard Proxmox / QEMU OVMF firmware screen? I'm pretty sure you can pull up those exact custom Secure Boot keys on almost any basic KVM virtual machine if you drop into the EFI menu.

Still, it's nice to know they have it properly exposed.

Continues with a box standard Proxmox feature 🫠

    EDIT / UPDATE:

    • Cores: I am now open to shared vCores, but only if the node is strictly low-density and not overpopulated. If you're offering a shared setup, please specify your thread-allocation policy.
    • Currency: Must be billed natively in USD. Strictly no GBP, EUR, or international hosts where I have to deal with fluctuating conversion rates and bank transaction fees.
