Great, network is back online... but with a latency between 20-30ms it's quite unacceptable for a connection between South Holland and North Holland (The Netherlands).

It's nice to see 11-12ms once in a while, but it's still to high for connections within The Netherlands itself... within The Netherlands you would expect latency between 4-8ms (max) between a customers FttH connection and datacenters.

Even my server in Roubaix France with OVHcloud has a better latency from around 10ms.

I tested it on my other NL server, and it looks like the traffic is routing through Eygelshoven

Guess where PletX is located

    Skylink Datacentre Numba wan !

12 hours standing idle vps like:

    TX: cum: 1.05GB peak: 67.0Kb rates: 14.2Kb 26.2Kb 17.4Kb
    RX: 3.41GB 25.6Kb 15.8Kb 10.4Kb 9.84Kb
    TOTAL: 4.46GB 74.4Kb 30.1Kb 36.6Kb 27.2Kb

    4.5GB of junk traffic.
    huh, ok?

You need to reboot your servers and they will back. (that's worked for me)

Be aware: when you've powered them down, DeluxHost will power them up - I guess that happens automatically after some kind of incident. Happened to me, yesterday I saw my VPS powered up again and I know for sure I didn't do that and it was powered down a week ago.

@DeluxHost - Matteo, instead of visiting LET quite a number of times a day, maybe invest that time to do something about answering tickets? According to all complaints here, you guys have quite a big backlog...

That the answers are here, that the answers to the tickets are a continuous stream of lies. Different people respond to the ticket and each of them lies in their own words. They don't respond to tickets in essence, they just write the same text with promises and lies to everyone.

I just wrote that they send everyone the same answers and just keep lying and mocking.
Find 3 differences from my answer that I just received.

I received a response, virtually the same as others, but with additional information regarding the latency and the billing/refund issue I reported. The billing department will handle that further.

The latency is now approximately 11 ms, which is still too high for domestic traffic. Least latency is 3ms and maximum is around 8-9ms for domestic traffic, everything above that means a VM in The Netherlands is just a piece of junk as even my Dedicated Server in France has a way better latency in that case. Heck, i would even have taken Strato for a VPS which is almost the same price but has a higher amount of peering and transit connections and way better ddos protection in place.

see you already have good results elsewhere, why go for new stuff? stick to french dedis and you'll be fine.

Cause I want something in NL for all sorts of other purposes, sec. nameserver, mx backup, and other sorts of things which can't be done on the DS.

Did you check the traceroute/ping beforehand, or did this occur afterwards or with the move to pletx route (which is in Germany, right)?

Last situation before all issues started, was via zaya -> backbone.direct -> dest. or something like that, latency back then was 8-9ms. Once in a while it had another route with a latency between 6-9ms. Since PletX it's average now is 15ms.

Nah, getting my money back is way better... Due to all the issues that happened, i'd be better of using a VM somewhere else.

A side of that, it's two different subnets they use that have the same routing. So for people that live in The Netherlands, it's a no-go host with such routing. So there's mutliple reasons not to stick with them for me.

DeluxHost isn't refunding the money because they assume everything is working. Are they sane or do they have something wrong ?

Eventually they do a refund because they have their systems not in place by extending accounts 2 months before expiry. So on all fronts there's a confirmation by their own replies and the invoices etc.

That they have resolved the DDOS's now, doesn't mean (for them) to ignore my earlier request to refund the upcoming year - which still hasn't started.
