  Exact that's the problem, you can't do that shit on old second hand or modded hardware, the hardware that is needed is out of LET providers reach.

  People have been talking of some cheaper modded GPUs with double the VRAM but they are only 20GB and fairly slow. You'd need to use 15 of those to get to 300GB VRAM.

  There are some serious opportunities here though, one day someone will be able to offer something here on the low end.

  But that will only be after the burst when hardware gets cheaper.

  yea.. and I'm not trying to spend money on hardware or rent gpu server with the current prices just so I can tell local models to do my work. I own the base M4 Pro Macbook Pro with 24GB of unified memory so it can run some basic local models. But I rather just purchase a claude/gpt subscription so I can use the latest models that can do the job a lot better and faster.

  Expect new entrants, more competition, prices are rising sharply. According to Gartner in 2028 firms will be spending more in AI per worker than the worker's salary. There wil be no savings only more spending.

  The era of loss making AI must come to an end, it already is comming to an end and soon you'll be able to choose from more providers.

  Despite more competition you will also pay more than you pay now. A LOT MORE!

  Self-charity to be precise, the guy really is deep into charity, no one can deny, and he is being tremendously successful as more and more people keep donating to Elon

  Self-charity is his cause and his passion, Elon does everything he can to get more people to donate to his cause, he is so passionate about it that he will trick people into donating as much as possible to his cause and then donate some more.

  Elon's success seems to be as boundless as his passion is, even people who don't want to donate are donating hugely to the cause. However, most of the donors are donating to Elon unwittingly.

  But he couldn't do any of that without full political support from the the top, political support from the top is what enables Elon to do all that.
