    IP addresses shouldn't be a speculative investment, and officially, if you use them as a speculative investment, your RIR can just take them back. Doesn't happen often.

    If you're actually using the IPs though, that's fine.

    Is there any way an RIR will let you have resources without doxxing yourself? Can you use a virtual office, can you ask them to keep your name private?

    Edit: it's okay if they know who I am, as long as they don't publish it to the whole internet.

    For the subnets we lease in ARIN, if you are a private person/individual and NOT a company, I can make your WHOIS private. Nothing will show, but a placeholder like "Private customer".

    However, if you want to sign-up directly with ARIN, it WILL show as you'd be a Member/LIR.

    Firstly, who tf is they? Secondly, have you tried looking at the OP in that thread? Thirdly, have you tried reading the thread and the responses to it? I don't see what's 'opposite'., about it. The responses to that thread clearly address your query and the original question does not say anything about keeping info away from LIR, RIR and government. As I recall, the poster in that thread was asking a very similar question about doing KYC with the RIRs directly and not going through LIRs for that.
