I have been using VPS for more than 12 years, and I rarely need to open support tickets. Unfortunately, my experience with DartNode has been very disappointing.
I have 2 VPS servers with DartNode. One of them keeps losing the SSH connection every 1–2 minutes. After the connection is lost, the same password sometimes shows "Access Denied". If I wait for a while, it works again, but the connection drops again after 1–2 minutes.
I opened a support ticket and received a reply within a few hours, but there was no solution. After almost 24 hours, the ticket was escalated to the Engineering team, and I was asked to wait another 48 hours. They later reset the root password, but that also did not solve the problem. I still cannot access the VPS, and the support ticket is still open.
If this VPS was running a production website, waiting days for a resolution would not be acceptable. This makes me wonder if DartNode is suitable only for testing and not for production.
Yesterday, I also received a notification saying SMTP access had been disabled because the VPS IP was blacklisted on multiple DNSBLs. I don't understand how this happened because I still cannot access the VPS, the support ticket is still open, and I have never had the chance to use the server.
This is the first time in over 12 years of using VPS that I have experienced issues like this. I hope DartNode improves both its server quality and support response time.
Note Both of my VPS servers were provided for free, and I appreciate that. They were delivered after 7 days, and I was okay with the wait. They are also billed at the normal price after the free period, and I have no issue with that either.
Some people may think, "You got them for free, so why complain?" I understand that point of view. However, free should not mean waiting days for support or being unable to use the service. Even if a VPS is provided for testing, users should still be able to access it and expect reasonable support when something goes wrong.
To add to my posts before, they have fixed everything and my collocation is working perfectly. Was a good price for what it offers. Hopefully things are smooth going forward!
Stop messing with passwords, it's an IP conflict issue.
I think just about any cheap/free vps they sold has bad ip reputation. I got the blacklist and SMTP block notification as well right after they provisioned the server.
Multiple even.
Maybe they picked up some abused IP space on the cheap.
I don't need it but if I was a paying customer I'd ask them to swap out to a clean ip.
Personally I don't have a problem if IP is blacklisted. I don't use such cheap servers for sending email anyway.
It'll probably affect VPN usage too but then switching/cleaning the IP would only do so much as long as the ASN is dirty. There's obviously still lots of use cases where it won't matter.
It seems everyone is running into almost the same issues. I submitted a support ticket too, but no one has resolved the same problem! This product is like a toy a kid plays with during testing—it’s completely unsuitable for production!
After all, it’s cheap, so I can understand that there might be some issues with the product!
But this is the first time in all these years that I’ve encountered a vendor with so many problems—there are bugs everywhere, and the issues are ten times worse than I expected! Customer service just replies to you, but absolutely no one ever actually fixes the problems! Every time, we get the same robotic, generic response: “We are currently addressing the xxx issue.”
how much was it?
Roughly 650$~ for dual 2650 v4,128gb ram, 1tb ssd, 1 free colocation month
I was wondering if anyone was going to get that.
I've seen even DO have issues with sending mail.
I think I'm lucky. I haven't see the IP issue and abuse.
BUT can always test emails to here. https://www.mail-tester.com/ I like that service.

Hello @DartNode
If you are reading this, please respond to ticket #27155. I do not have 7 days to wait, there’s an issue with your payment processing system. Please respond as soon as possible, and do add an extension to my active servers until the matter is resolved.
is there any way to see the next billing date on a dedi?
Just wanting to confirm when it is, since i'd expect its 12 months from when the server was provisioned + I believe dartnode mentioned an extra month due to the issues. I'll likely forget if I dont confirm its all correct now
I opened support tickets #27155 and #27058 quite some time ago, and there’s still no response from accounting.
My renewal is already due, but I can’t pay because the billing system won’t let me add or process my card. I’ve already completed the KYC process, and the only payment methods left are Crypto and PayPal, neither of which is a practical option in my region.
At this point, it genuinely feels like they’re just waiting for the billing system to automatically suspend those last year’s cheap promotional dedicated servers and VPS instances so they can resale it for higher price.
I think it’s time @jbiloh steps in. @DartNode promotions on LET should be temporarily suspended until they resolve these billing issues affecting their LET customers.
By the way they do actively respond to non-active customers within couple of hours I tried sending them emails at [email protected] and I got replies within 6-12 hours.
@DartNode please check my tickets

Tickets without any reply for 2 weeks.
Over 2 weeks have gone by, no follow up or response to the tickets. I can’t imagine what kind of excuse could justify the inability to respond in a timely manner at this point. Time for disputes I guess, you’ve had my money for weeks but no service.
If this is how the “wholesale cloud” operates I’d prefer the retail version instead.

Let me know your ticket number and I will get everything sorted for you this morning.
Hello!
To anyone and everyone who experienced any issues during DartDay, I want to sincerely apologize again and assure you that we have no ill intent with our services or the way we handle your tickets. If anyone from this community needs a resolution escalated for any reason, please feel free to reach out to me here, via private message, or by opening a ticket in the sales department so I can speak to you there.
I will relay your ticket numbers to the proper channels and escalate whatever problems you might still be encountering. We do have a few different cases that engineering is actively working on right now.
I just want to say that everyone at our company loves the LET community; it holds a special place in our hearts and lies at the very roots of this company from its earliest days. I very much look forward to refining everything for you guys moving forward.
We have so many more giveaways and events planned for the future. I truly appreciate everyone who hung out with us on DartDay and, once again, please feel free to reach out to me anytime.
Thank you from all of us at DartNode,
-Joe

Thanks but i neither have an account at Dartnode nor would i attempt to selfhost mail in general. In my opinion it's not worth the headache when stuff like mxroute is just a couple $ per year.
As far as VPN exits are concerned i'm very, very picky where to put them. If i don't see a squeaky clean ASN chances of me ordering are practically zero. I have no interest in dealing with a ton of captchas and fraudchecks and if quality erodes (checks during ordering sadly won't predict the future after all) i'm gone. It's a little annoying since sites like Paypal or Ebay will be naturally suspicious of my new IP no matter how clean it is but in the end there's no easy out since keeping on using a dirty range will run into problems rather sooner than later anyways.
@DartNode. Do you mind transferring VPS-1 that I won to @whynotlearn ?
It's his birthday ( https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/218761/its-my-birthday-lets-make-a-july-the-2nd-thread ).
Please note that I only got VPS-3 on my account.

Hey, I just read your message and I have now made the account on dartnode. Thanks @rpqu you are the goat. I have created the account
Thanks @rpqu :-D I really appreciate it
Sure. I have made a ticket on 202607021541XXUTC. @simo @keoir #27356
@whynotlearn when asked, please give the email used for registration to @DartNode or @simo
Absolutely! I am/was waiting for anything to be done from my side. I am waiting for @DartNode or @simo message to me at the moment so I hope that they contact me soon :-D, Once again thanks @rpqu :-D
Hmm, you may be right. But DartNode marked the ticket as resolved, even though the SSH issue still persists. Also, why would I mess with a newly provisioned VPS when it already had this issue?
