Bandwidth-optimized VPS in Iceland
I'm looking for a VPS in Iceland that is not provided by, resold from, or routed through FlokiNET or 1984hosting.*
Minimum requirements:
- 1 vCPU with AES-NI
- 2 GB RAM
- 5 GB storage (any type)
- Unmetered bandwidth @ 100 Mbps or 25 TB/month
- $60/year in cryptocurrency when paid annually or triennially
If the provider allows Tor exits and can provide IPv6 and a second IPv4, I can double my budget. Otherwise, I only intend to host a non-exit relay which will not result in any abuse complaints and requires only one IPv4.
* I don't mind those providers, but they are already quite over-represented on the Tor network.

If they are so over presented why would you insist to have 1 more in Iceland 😄
Iceland itself isn't, but the Tor network has very few non-FlokiNET, non-1984hosting Icelandic relays. And Iceland is in a unique geographical location bridging the Americas and Europe.
Oh, I see.
yea... good luck. only 1984/flokinet or edis
@estnoc ? I saw that they claim they arent a reseller
smart!
in particular, floki is a filthy, run-down dump.
I've heard that often, but what makes it so bad?

Had a test VPS some time ago and it was quiet nice.
I am not affiliated with them so please be careful especially if you want to pay upfront for 1 year.
I miss the old times, EDIS had Iceland VPS's for like 20€/y
Unfortunately, they say:
@forest you get your tor shirt?
Nah, I keep myself strictly anonymous. Not even the Tor Project has my address.
I do have an EFF hoodie that I got at DEF CON years ago, though!
Does it actually do so though?
https://www.submarinecablemap.com/ shows it's mostly just connected to Europe. The only west-bound cable appears to be intended for serving Greenland.
Did you check with mtrs if there's any low latency direct route from America to Iceland?
No it does not, there is no relevant capacity to US/CA. All Iceland, Faroe and other up there traffic goes to the UK or Nordic countries.
You are going to have a long journey my friend...

(95% of them are not hosting companies)
Got it. In that case, I retract my request and the thread can be closed.
I think you can try Colocrossing/resellers? They use only direct connections (Cogent and Zayo if I remember right) from T1 ISPs
Edit: misread iceland as ireland. Ignore
I do use ServerHost (a CC reseller) in Ireland, amazingly cheap and the network isn't half bad!
