Prepaid-host price increase
Just readed this email :
thank you for being part of Prepaid-Host. Today we unfortunately have to inform you about a price change for your Rootserver (16 GB RAM, 4 vCPU, 200 GB).
Hardware prices have risen sharply over the past months. Driven by the enormous demand from the AI sector, memory (RAM) and SSD/NVMe storage have at times tripled or even quadrupled in price (in some cases more than +300%), and server hardware from major manufacturers has also gone up by double-digit percentages
several times. On top of that comes the ongoing hardware wear and tear: components have to be replaced and renewed regularly to keep your server running reliably.
For these reasons we can no longer offer this package at the previous price of €4.99/month. To keep the service running at the quality you are used to, we have to adjust the price:
Current: €4.99/month
New from 01 July 2026: €6.99/month
Nothing else changes for you: the performance, specifications and location of your server stay exactly the same. The new price applies to all renewals from 01 July 2026 onwards – please make sure your balance is sufficient for the next renewal.
If you do not agree with this price change, you are of course free to simply let your server expire or not renew it at any time before 01 July 2026 – no further costs will arise for you.
We know that price increases are never pleasant, and we have postponed this step for as long as possible. Thank you very much for your understanding and your trust.

This is the trend for 2026
They should rename to Mid+Prepaid-host
You paid €4.99/month for 16 GB RAM in 2026 and you are complaining?
Let's be fair to providers. They are not OVH size.
If they managed to make a profit from this, it would be razor thin.
Who is complaining here ?
Price is okay-ish. There are hosts you pay up to $50/m for lower config. Not lowend, but its really happening.
The price is amazing, even after increase. I honestly don't know how they make profit.
Should have prepaid for longer
