The stock was limited. They introduced queues to counter bots who grab, abuse and chargeback. That is the reason they approached this. Now they discussed about validating with accounts. They try and communicate on Twitch how they discuss it.
you guys all forgot the BF thing? they have like a human person sitting deploying VPS-es.. hence the queue and delays. IMHO AFAIR

When your goal is to hit 500 sold items and there’s a que for 200+ people for a single item even if it’s 50% bots or people who don’t intended to buy it, legit buyers don’t want to wait 2+ hours on a hope it might be in stock when/if they hit #1 in the que…

@DartNode any chance you'll open up pre-orders for larger VPS in East, West, and Central like you have for Boston and DC? I'd like more than one core in Orlando. I don't really even care which line it is, VPS/NVME/Ryzen.

Not trying to belittle them but a proper queue system / anti bot etc is not just a simple 1 hour prompting using LLM models etc, at least from my indirect experience handling millions of users getting flash deals on a daily basis at work.
At this point it is probably better to just increase the amount of concurrent users that can checkout at the same time (now it seems limited to 1 person checking out each time), and stop thinking about how to build a sophisticated queue system.
I've been biting my tongue about this queue. Another guy complained in a different thread and instantly triggered the locals' MJJ radar. To avoid getting flagged, you basically have to go radio silent and fly low. Complaining is off-limits, lol

This exactly, people here are too conspiratorial, fake this fake that, but its just badly executed. While I disagree about it being not a 1 hour LLM assisted task. You have to know exactly what you are building and why. And if you do. It can actually be a 1h LLM assisted job.

I somewhat understand the bot problem but beyond that it's huge fail. To get a modern Twitch account you'll have to jump through a bunch of silly (also not very privacy friendly) hoops and at the point you tie your LET account to a provider you have basically doxxed yourself. Thanks, but no, thanks. It doesn't really concern me here because i'm not trying to get anything anyways but in general it's not great...
