Yeah nowadays you need to be certified to use their gui. How insane.

Always Reduced®™
Had to reset my password to sign in and for some reason my account doesn't have authorization to view my own resources. RIP my Oracle instances.
Try a different browser. I had that issue sometime back.
Your post basically saved me 10$, otherwise i wouldn't even know
Tried to reshape the ARM instance on my free tier account, and the grub simply boomed. Lucily I was able to fix it via console connections.
just saw this on reddit and had to come here. fortunately block storage always free stays the same.
Thanks for the info!
Logged in and I still see the always free limit at 4 CPUs. I might let it run until it get stopped before reshaping.
Same here, nothing changed in my free tier account yet, still running 4c/24g and when logged in, old limits are shown
Plot twist: Oracle scam to get people to voluntarily reduce resources.
If we're relying on the free tier for anything important, now is probably a good time to have a backup plan ready just in case.
Haven't been able to create an ARM instance at least for the past year anyway.
Definitely skill issue
Yes definitely back up important data if you're on free tier. Some of us on free tier can still gamble and leave it at 4c/24g, I guess those on PAYG should reshape and downgrade just in case.
You have to go PAYG to get them built roughly soonish.
Always half free is painfully accurate. We all knew a spec sheet that generous was just a loss leader waiting to happen, probably gobbled up by the LLM boom anyway. The real test will be how they handle the transition. If they just hard terminate existing instances without a proper grace period, the backlash will be legendary.
Anyway, I was only ever able to get 2 cores with 12GB of RAM this whole time.
Checked server still running with 4c/24g, but on docs, instance creation page, all shows new reduced quota..
Dont want to risk getting charged, i reduced them to new limits...
the first thing of their day is register Oracle free
i checked and dont seem to have received any notification from this, im payg, my 4c/24gb server is still running and still does not cost a think according to their cost analysis page... when were we supposed to get a mail about this?
You might not get charged this month, but could be charged next month. You can basically run it for half a month without charges, or full month without charges if you'd halved the CPU and RAM. xD
I remember before when Oracle update free tier for Load Balance, old people who have previous Load Balance dont get new one specs so might be this same case - old people still keep 4/24 and new free tier only affect new customer
My dash still says this
Id read the word, Warning.
Its ominous sign
Thouhh I know its always been there and warning you
Aye I saw Warning and though oo they've changed it, but nope still the same, I suppose we will get an email soon.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Yeah
Email will come, with the invoice attached
Wonder how that will go
That would be shit, if it shows in the panel and no email to warn people that’s pretty shitty
Its oracle, lol
That is true, but still 🤣
