  Budget is probably a little tight. Maybe rather get a bunch of offers and see where they fall but i kind of fear you won't see anything <$200 (likely more).

  software raid is enough for me, nothing crucial will be on HDDs.

  I just need to fully understand to ensure I can work within the budget, if you understand the risks of eg Raid 0 that will make it easier to fit within the budget i think.

  yes, i can do raid 0 no problem for me, maybe raid 5, but raid 0 is fine for me.
