If you want the most reliability, hetzner has storage box, 3 eur/month for 1TB. The location is in Europe though.

Looked into that but wouldnt work for my usecase, if your just ftping then that would be fine.
what use case would this work for? The only thing I'm really doing is making a script on my server to put my most critical files somewhere that isn't my server just in case I need to restore them

I have a 1TB volume. Works great with rclone mount with encryption.

Not really sure how fast it is. It's syncing twice a day from OneDrive. About 700GB. Not many file changes, so not much traffic. It's been running for 6 months now.
is ther a way I can remove the domain from this? because I don't need one and I think it makes me pay more and I don't want to pay for something I'm not even going to use

It uses DirectAdmin to manage the account, so it wants some domain name. If you already own some domain just put that, you don't need to setup DNS or anything. Or just make one up, as long as it is unique and nobody else on the server has it. The server will have it's own name that you can use to connect to it. The German one is ftpde1.hostypanel.com.
It will use the "domain" you put in for the ftp user names you create. user@domain
It will actually host web pages if you wanted. I don't have any of that configured, since the "domain" I entered doesn't exist.
I of course don't want my server backups to be public, so how can I make them private on that
Don't publish the path you store your files as web pages, and always encrypt all your files. If you use rclone you can also scramble the file/folder names.
